let you know my thoughts
I didn't like the second episode as much as the first. I have a real hard time believing anyone talks and interacts in a newsroom the way these characters do. Not sure if I'll continue to watch.
Can't.stand.the.girl - she might be the reason alone I stop watching.
Which one? Allison Pill, who plays Maggie?
She's beyond annoying.
yeah, this nutjob
I really liked the first episode, but all of the reviews say it just gets worse after the first episode. You know going in it is going to be idealist and liberal even if it tries to be middle, but it is going to have trouble staying around. 2.2m I think watched first ePisode (2.7 including late show) which is well less than half of the true blood lead in.
I really liked the first episode, liked the 2nd episode and love the idea of the show. I just worry that it is going to be too left leaning to hold onto viewers.
it's a bit idealistic, but I enjoyed the pilot all the same. I have it DVRed and haven't seen the the second episode yet.
She looks like she could have been Sloth's sister from The Goonies. Overall, I really liked the show.
yeah I'm feeling the same way. Also that maggie chick is reason alone to stop watching
Renewed for season 2........and True Blood was renewed for some reason (probably because of all of the people that watch it, but I don't understand people watching it)
Seems less about the characters or plot, and mostly just a vehicle for Sorkin to tell everybody how he thinks the news and society should be.
I don't necessarily disagree with some of the points made, but it's just not very believable that all these characters have such well thought out opinions on everything that they drop without pauses. It's almost distracting from a lot of the great lines and banter that come up in between.
Plus a lot of the 2nd episode's plot revolved around these extremely smart news people not knowing how to use e-mail or their blackberries.
It's still entertaining and I'll keep watching, but Sorkin needs to ease up a bit. He's gonna run out of frantic monologues before the 2nd season.
They don't shut up. They need to let the dialogue just breeth more. The frantic pass gets on my nerves.
It is typical Sorkin style dialogue. I should have known it coming in, but I can never really get used to it.
I like the quick pace of dialogue and banter, but like on Sunday, the intern girl dropped an entire thesis on America's attitude towards immigration in about a 20 second monologue. That seemed like overkill even for Sorkin.
Haven't watched it sober yet.
She sucks and is icky
2nd episode was more than decent.
Radiohead - High And Dry (Live Jools Holland 1995) (High Quality video) (HD)
how did #3 fair for you guys?
I don't know that I've ever seen a show have such a good first episode and then turn to crap by the third episode like this one has. I think I'm giving up on this thing.
The first monologue was beautiful, now... the show is like that nasty girl.
Its like eating fat girl p****
I loved the first episoded, watched about 10/15 minutes of the second and almost fell asleep. It lost its spot in coastal's TV lineup. If I hear it gets good again I will catch up with HBOGo if I ever have time

I am still really enjoying it. It is not a perfect show by any means and it does tend to get a little preachy at times but overall it is a solid show IMO.
I can't believe I am watching this...
