I'm uneasy with PSU having the entire eastern seaboard to themselves in recruiting so I'd prefer east-west. It would make for some great recruiting battles between Michigan-Ohio and PSU for New Jersey and Maryland talent.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
The only RS-FR is Kalis and he was a 5 star recruit.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Agree. I'd rather have a recruiting advantage in NJ and MD than IA and WI.
2 separate sources on the committee stated that the committee wanted Northwestern-TAMU, but B1G/SEC "basically forced them" to take the other selections. So, there goes your theory.
You are completely ignoring the fact that bowls generally do not like to take the same team two years in a row.
Did you see your OL this year? You are 6 years into the Dantonio era and you still can't get a push even with all of your starters back.

Bowls take the same teams in back to back years all the time. It's a consideration, but one among many. Believe what you want. Add it to your list of conspiracy theories. Delany hates both MSU and NW and will use all his powers to keep them down. You people are absolutely delusional.

Um, did you see yours?
Ours had significant injuries all year. Yours did not, yet it regressed. Why do you think that is?
And you're freaking retarded. Please, point out where I complained or said Delany hates MSU.
You're the one that is choosing to ignore a national, sourced article, so that you can instead believe your own pretty little picture.
Do you know what gets really old really fast? Somebody calling you delusional when they're the ones walking around with their eyes closed. You are either trolling hardcore or a blatant moron.

We are two years into the Hoke era with recruits that don't fit our system and significant depth issues at OL. You are six years into the Dantonio era and your OL still didn't get a push when they all came back healthy. Last year's OL was pretty good so I'm willing to give Funk the benefit of the doubt.
HAHA. I just re-read what you wrote.
You said it's a conspiracy theory that I'm complaining about.
Yet you're the one claiming that Northwestern grads conspired to start this story in the media and then waited for other writers to pick up on it.
You are an absolute piece of work.
Tell me, oh knowledgeable one, if the Cap One really wanted NW but the B10 forced them to take UNL instead, why didn't the Outback take NW? Presumably the same business considerations were at work. Why wasn't the Outback giddy with excitement over the opportunity to land the NW team that the Cap One wanted but couldn't take? Why would they also take a pass? Were they forced to pass on NW too? For what reason?

I don't know, and I don't care. You see, I don't have to speculate on reasons for why things happened, because I am simply referencing multiple sources saying the same thing.
You're the one who thinks some alternate version of the story took place, the burden of proof is on you.
Edit: and for the record, I never claimed the Capital One Bowl was sooo eager to take Northwestern, I suggested they simply might not have wanted Nebraska. But carry on believing what you will, I'm just dying to know what you'll come up with next.
Got it. You're a parrot. You cannot think for yourself but simply repeat what others tell you and what you read on the internet without engaging any critical thought process at all. I have to admit, that helps explain much of what you post here.
Got it, you don't believe sourced articles. You believe that the media conspires together to make up stories about a team getting passed on for a bowl game.
How do you know this? Because another bowl passed on that very same team. OMG!
Nebraska wasn't an attractive option, it was widely talked about. And I did give you a perfectly good explanation above; it wasn't that Northwestern was particularly attractive, it's that Nebraska was unattractive. They had gone there the year before. They just got blown out and fan support was low after a fairly disappointing season. It's not as absurd as you are trying to make it out to be.
These writers that you claim are making things up, do you have evidence that they have in the past? Why would a completely unrelated writer also make up the very same story? Is there a single shred of evidence, other than the thoughts in your brain, that Northwestern wasn't the first option of the Capital One bowl committee?
I'm almost home from my 2 day trip to Indiana, if anyone cares. Brought home a bottle of Tito's pot distiller, 6x filtered, vodka which I've never seen in Michigan. Apparently won numerous awards, although I can't source their claims. Sorry Jandy.
Who are these Cap One "sources"? I have yet to see a single name. And where did any of them say that the majority vote was for NW rather than a minority? FWIW I also find it very interesting the article cited above has an entire paragraph explaining why A&M was wanted over UGA but it doesn't include a single sentence attempting to explain why anyone would want NW over UNL. Why not? What are the reasons and why leave them out of the story if they are so compelling? Surely these great reporters asked why NW was wanted over the B10 runner-up, which had a better record than NW and had beaten NW head to head.
And it doesn't require a conspiracy for three NW grads to come to the same wrong conclusion regarding their alma mater not being invited to a bowl game. It merely requires group think. If you want to know what group think is, venture over to Bucknuts. Or RCMB for that matter.
The Capital One Bowl picked Nebraska because that is the team they wanted. Period.

No worries, I've heard good things as well.
Have you ever tried either of the Plum Markets?
Finally! You've brought up good points. I knew you had it in you.
I don't know why the article doesn't specifically discuss Northwestern, it is a bit odd.
I still don't think that Bianchi makes this story up completely. Exaggerates it? Perhaps. But not out of thin air IMO.
No, I'm not familiar. Please elaborate.
My wife's uncle works as the 'wine expert', so to speak, for the Plum Market grocery stores. They have a phenomenal liquor/wine/beer selection. There is one in West Bloomfield and one in Ann Arbor (right off of Dexter where it runs along 94).
You aught to check them out, they have never disappointed me when I wanted to try a new beer or liquor.
Oh boy, going to be a rough day ITT today...
Here we go, bottoms up boys."
You nailed it.
I would only believe you if Joe Rexrode wrote the article since he is fair and balanced.
Standard rehashed Sparty conspiracy theory alert ...
Ahhhhh. Sometimes it's not only tears that taste like sugar.
