I thought Parker was supposed to be a stud.
Does that mean I have to give back my degree and any money I've made over a certain amount now? That my MSU degree isn't as "good" as others? My buddy who graduated from Ferris is making near 7 figures with Ford. I always tell him he went to Ferris and his degree sucks, so I need him to move out of his house. He never complies.
Here it is. Degrees are what you make of them. i'm absolutely sure that degrees form some universities get you an interview and a tryout moreso then others. But then you ned to perform.
Who said otherwise
First off, what are you talking about? How did you get the crazy notion that you have to give back your degree and money just from my comment?
But technically speaking, yes, an MSU degree is not as good as a degree from some other schools. Are you really going to dispute an MSU degree is just as good as a Harvard degree?
I agree you can still be successful without a big time degree like your buddy is, but it's just easier to reach success with that big degree.
All top 100 undergrad degrees are basically the same, unless you're going into certain fields that really look at "top schools" ie med school, law school, phd programs, etc..
It's not the degree that makes the person successful, it's the person.. a Harvard degree might get you in the door at a couple more places that MSU couldn't, but in the end, if you're a boob and bomb the interview, it really doesn't matter where you go.
Disagree completely with this assumption. There are schools whose academics are way better then others, and MSU is certainly not a Harvard. However, In the business world, I know way too many successful people with degrees from Central, Western, Ferris. Do what you have to do, with what you have.
As I said already, doors will be opened for you quicker with a degree from Harvard, but you have to stay there with moxy.
Now if you want to argue that you get more Moxy from being pushed academically by some of the great universities, I have no problem with that, but it's all about drive, desire, character. We all know too many idiots with degrees from universities that are great academic universities but we wouldn't want anyting to do with.
Also to argue that a network of great businesses will give you better connections because the higher ups in that company are alumni of certain schools, may also be true, but the business didn't get to be huge with hiring alumni, they got huge by hiring motivated workers with good personalities who were trustworthy.
Agreed, but I think we can assume people from Harvard aren't "boobs"
I agree. The part I bolded in your quote is really all I'm trying to say.
But that's not what you said
That's exactly what I said, or what I was trying to say.

Per Rivals- top 10 players college choices in 2012 (and the schools 2011 record)
So out of the top 10, each school had at least 4 losses the previous year.. shocking that you're opinion is proven incorrect by facts.

Nah haven't you read rcmb, he's over rated
I used to interview teachers. I won't lie if we had 100 resumes I'd pull out all the Michigan and MSU first and study them. If I could get ten lined up for interviews I'd go there and if they all stunk I'd go back to the pile. So I can't say it doesn't get you an interview. That said, I interviewed some um/MSU peeps that were embarrassing.
almost all of those schools are traditional powers. MSU is not.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
you had no mention of tradition powers in your "claim"
"What high level recruit would want to play on a 6-6 football team? "
I assumed everyone knew that players want to play on traditional powers no matter what. My point still stands MSU is 6-6 and not a traditional power. Not a good situation to be in with Drake Harris.
Found out why Izzo pulled the offer. He just yesterday saw the Southpark episode on Mormons and decided he wasn't a good fit for MSU.

Why in the world has Beilein kept his starters on the floor this late into the game?
laconophilia is everywhere...
If the kids on the bench don't like it, they need to step the heck up in practice. Who knows, I always hear that a coach has to "shorten up" his bench in the tournament. Maybe he's working on that now. He knows what he's doing. Just hope somebody doesnt' get hurt doing it.
I'm just saying that it was a blowout. IMO, no players other than undeveloped ones should be playing late into the game. Especially with a grueling B1G season coming up, I would be resting players for the last 6-8 minutes of blowouts, unless the coach is trying to accomplish specific things. I just can't think of what those things would be for UM, with them playing so well at this point.
Michigan's next game is on the 29th. If anything they couldn't get enough PT.

That is quite a good point. Touche.
Bump. Just another ho-hum 16 point game on the back of 5-8 from the three point line for Stauskus.
McGary had a double-double in 18 minutes of work. Burke being Burke with 8 assists and only 1 turnover.
I like the sportsmanship Beilein coaches with, dribble out the clock with the game in hand on the last possession and not jacking up a three.
It's a fun team to watch. I'm looking forward to B10 play.
Same here. I already made it clear to the wife that I would like to get away for a couple of hours and watch the game @NW on the 3rd. She said that it shouldn't be a problem, but we will see what she thinks once the time comes. (Getting away is going to the sports bar on a Disney Cruise )
