Nix is a dumb ass,(sorry brothers) Appling is quiet, and Harris is a frosh. I'm not confident. Time for Izzo to be Izzo
Just looked it up. They play here March 1 I believe. Hopefully Memphis won't be too big of a draw adn I'll ask for tickets to that game.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
This is MSU basketball in Nov/Dec. Our biggest problem is lack of a perimeter shooter to open up the bigs at the post. I'm pretty sure that Izzo prefers a great defense and a mediocre offense. Every game you can play great defense and you can rely on that defense. You can't always rely on your shooting, Illini will end up being a good example of that. I watched bits and pieces of the game against Mizzou, and they just chucked up 3 after 3 after 3. I didn't notice much of an inside game.
Free throw shooting is the part of the MSU game that has bugged me the most. I don't understand why our guards can't hit FT's right now. Harris needs to be an 80% FT shooter, Appling should be over 85%. Any of the players that are going to be relied upon at the end of games to bring the ball forward has got to be able to hit FT's.
Lets see what happens when conference play gets started. The good Izzo teams usually improve quite drastically from Nov/Dec into Jan/Feb.
FTR, I like the fact that we're a top 25 team and we don't like it. Izzo has spoiled us and has made every fan have very high expectation. This #20 team is not acceptable to me right now. like Woodson says they lack passion. I hate that. We need a Skiles
Hows papa bear?
Have a safe and merry Christmas to all my homeys iTT. Hope they have started off as well as mine. My bro flew in from San Diego (whales vagina) on Thursday night w my niece. Haven't seen him in 3 1/2 years. Been busy but fun as hell, even though I missed out on some prime time OT, my overhead line crew worked 16's the last 3 days getting everyone back in power. Worth every penny not earned hanging with my bro instead. Had a huge (kid free) party that started at 7:30 my house on Friday. We lost power at 7:15. Hooked up my monster Xmas tree via the neighbors generator, candles everywhere, music through my phone and some quality iPod speakers. Rocked it out till about 5am Saturday. White elephant party at inlaws on Saturday, ironically my gift was a pair of rechargeable emergency flashlights that kick on when power goes out .
Been a great few days and I hope that you all have had, and will have the same, plenty of family and friends, love and laughter, and some viciously competative Wii sports competitions!
K-State, NC State and Pitt are all ranked.

If only we played real teams like Miami and Uconn.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Or like Kansas
I completely disagree about the passion portion of your statement. I think that the reason the players sometimes look like you're disinterested is because they're actually not sure what to do because of a lack of leadership.
If Nix is the player that we saw against Texas, I think this team will be fine. I think that Nix and Appling need to co-lead for this team to reach the Elite 8.
Unfortunately, I think Izzo had to write off Byrd as a head case for the season.
laconophilia is everywhere...
This team will not make the elite 8. They can't shoot at all.
Here, this'll sum it up.....
Michigan isn't as good as we think and State's not as bad as we think. There. Merry Christmas.
Recovering nicely thanks. And I hope Christmas day finds every one and their family healthy and well tomorrow.
Interesting you say that as I believe they are in the top 20 in FG % nationally
Edit: they are #22... So much for your theory

Merry Xmas to all!!
I'm not sure MSU has any vocal leaders right now but I think the team has good chemistry, which is hugely important, and Appling has at least been leading with his play on the court. In the last 5 minutes of a tight game, he can and does take over. He's quiet but extremely confident.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
The perimeter game needs to get more consistent, but if you know MSU, you know that has never been their game. They're going to push the ball in transition and then run their myriad sets in the half court and methodically work for high percentage shots as well as pack it in the paint with Nix and Payne, crash the glass and clean up on second chance points. This style works well in the post season because the refs tend to be more lax and let us play our physical brand. Currently we are ranked 26th in the country in field goal percentage so while we are not nailing a lot of threes, our offense is still efficient. Appling, Harris, Trice, Kearney and Valentine are all capable of knocking down threes, but collectively we're not shooting a great % right now. We do have a knack of hitting the timely/clutch threes though.
Besides, I'm not sure the three point shooting can get much worse. If anything, it can only improve. Or maybe it stays the same. I am more concerned with turnovers at this point.
Merry Christmas gents, even you Spartan fans.
In all seriousness enjoy the day guys, enjoy the food, enjoy the presents, and most importantly enjoy your families.
I will second this sentiment, but towards the blue fans here.
Merry Christmas all, hope you are having a great day. Now I have to go find some beer.
I found some beer. My bro n I r having some beers on account of y'all here.
Merry belated Christmas. I hope everyone enjoyed their time spent with their families. This is my favorite time of the year with how much my family gets together.
Leaving in a few hours for Disney World/Universal Studios/Disney Cruise trip. I won't be discussing/arguing/trolling until I return on the 7th. Might check in at night to wind down and I still plan on being able to watch the Michigan BB game on the 3rd. (Dinner plans are set for 6, but the wife said I should be able to watch the game.)
Anyway, Happy New Year and be safe.
The thing is Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
I'll be honest with you, I love his music. I do. I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".
