I called Coughlin out for being a chitty coach. Guy brings it when it matters, but he should figure out how to get his team ready during the regular season. Al
I always want a team full strength. It means more to win when you beat a team at full strength.
I don't watch the pre season stuff but I turn it on and Boise is shooting 4 free throws and then they get the ball and then they throw it in and the ref called a foul and in ten seconds of game time I saw one team shoot six free throws. .
WTF? Is that possible? Izzo looked pissed. I'm like damn, back to storage wars. Now you guys say we have a player hurt and Harry wants to committ suicide as far as expectations. I'm thinking this year is going great. Jesus.
Broken nose and severe concussion during the UConn game
The game he called against San Fran this year was incredible. Guy can flat out coach.
A win is a win. The only difference is the sore losers will find something to bitch about.
Who have we lost that we should just slit our wrists? A freshman? Come on.
That's right, you told me that last week. How long is he out? When do think you will find out about Harris?
Some dumb new rule where you can't swing your elbows anymore. If you do it and it hits someone in the face it's a foul. Wussification of America.
Speaking of injuries, what are the odds Penn State wins more than 2 conference games now that Tim Frazier is out?
Izzo said before the kansas game that he'd be out a week or two, depending on his symptoms. We'll know more about Harris around 10AM tomorrow
He was their team. Nebraska and Penn State battle it out for last place.
Purdue got screwed because of that rule too. I was always taught to use your elbows to create space after a rebound, but i guess it isn't allowed anymore.
Thank you. Hopefully both kids get back to full strength soon. Hopefully worse case is no later than the start of conference play.
Harris is putting up fantastic number, leading the team in points and is starting.
Basketball is one of those sports where a frosh can be a major contributor and filling in for that type of production is very difficult. Basketball is probably the hardest sport to overcome an injury, you lose a starter or that key 6th man it impacts the performance greatly.
That's how I always played the game as well. Question, was anyone exploiting this to elbow people in the face? Way I remember it when you saw someone swinging their elbows you just knew to get out of the way. It was never a malicious aspect of the game.
Wags, this isn't football. College freshman can easily be the best players on the court. Just look at Kentucky. Harris is the best player on the team. He can legitimately defend and lead in scoring. It's a big loss. If he isn't back relatively soon, he's going to hurt his development for later on in the season. If he's out an extended period of time, say goodbye to competing for the top of the Big Ten. It doesn't matter if you're the biggest MSU fan in the world or a rival. Losing Harris is big news.
So I can't grab a rebound, put it under my chin elbows out and pivot? That's bull shit. I think I'm going to hate basketball. That's how we did it old school. Swollen lips and black eyes if you tried to get near it. Four free throws? I hope we drew blood at least.
Said before the Kansas game, when Payne hurt his ankle, that it sounds like this teams gonna get hit with injuries. 7 already.
He gets it done when it matters. He's outcoached the best of the best in crucial times.
For my team though, I'm still going with the Vest, Jim Harbaugh, and Tomlin over him.
To me, Harbaugh is the best it gets.
Wel that sucks. So when will we know?
I'm a huge Pistons fan, but when Magic went down in that finals in the 80's it took something away from that series. It was great overcoming the Celtics and the Bulls when they gave us their best shot. Beating the wounded Lakers that series for the ring lacked the same luster.
Over Belichick? No way.
You could always read tRCMB...
Anyhow, tomorrow morning we should know the extent.
Nope. Any contact with the face is supposed to be an automatic flagrant 1, whether its intentional or not, or whether the defender was too close up or not.
