You guys are arguing with someone whom I'm sure will say that MSU isn't a rival, yet who chose the handle of msucan'tmakebcs. He's clearly superior because of that clever user name.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
Good thing you guys are content with 1/3 of a conference title and not going for a national title.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Lol. Good talk, kid.
I can't help you if you're angry that your team can't make the BCS.
fer sure dude. I'm angry, like a sparrow.
Are you just reiterating Dantonio's excuses? Everyone knows recruiting matters. Stars are an indicator of success.
BTW - A lot of kids from small schools make the NFL for one main reason: they keep trying. A small group are actually drafted, the rest just persist in trying to make NFL squads...and they do.
Anyway, the big recruiting schools still send the most kids to the NFL. Just because another program (of which there are many more) occassionally have a kid stick in the NFL, does not make the recruit rankings a joke. You need to look at how many kids play at GVSU and what percent end up in the NFL versus USC or Bama.
or CMU, EMU, etc.
If stars didn't matter, saban could go to these schools and win as easily as he did at Bama.
We all know, any team that can only muster 1/3rd of a conference title has zero claim to supremacy or that they are back as a program or are a national player in any way.
As I said, you start there, that's all you can do. Baby steps. Dantonio perhaps has taken the next baby step by winning a bowl. It goes from there.
Can you imagine how arrogant and assinine that would be if a fan base wins one third of a conference title in 20 or more years, doesn't really do dick in post season, even embarrasses the league, and then claims they're some kind of power or back to national prominence? What assholes would do something like that really.
I was just pointing out that Coach B has made it to and past the Sweet 16. Those weren't the only 2 games that Michigan won last year in which they shot poorly from 3 point land. I used those 2 as examples because they were our 2 overall best wins and we didn't shoot well in those games.
I get it. You don't think Coach B is very good. I happen to believe he is and he understands where he needs to get Michigan in order to compete in the Big Ten yearly and in the Tourney. He is recruiting bigger, longer, more athletic, more talented kids. Time will tell if Coach B has what it takes to get Michigan deep in the tourney.
At least we've won a National championship in the last 15 years. It comes across as amusing that Matt Charboneau thinks that you guys will now be national champions without even going to the Rose Bowl.
If I say I don't know who Matt Charbaneau is or do I care who he is does that matter? I bet I watched more MSU film than him and I say it's not happening. Only because I also watch the sec
Edit: btw when you said 15 years that freaked me out. It seems like yesterday. Damn.

Link please. Or are you exaggerating?
Some guy on the BTN says we're the favorite to win the league this year. Based on what? These are all bs predictions. Untill the fourth game you can make educated guesses but everyone with an ounce of common sense has to realize they're just guesses. After game three or four you get a way better feel.
Per Rivals (the best of the mediocrity recruiting rankings), it's 3..
Actually, over the past 5 years, I think UM is on par with a ND than with a Bama/LSU.. and it's pure delusion to think otherwise
Well, you are just wrong. The statistics do not support your argument and you're relying on assumptions. Star rankings are just one piece of the puzzle. A piece of the puzzle that is highly subjective and tainted by feeding your customers. It's a business. When you follow the money, you quickly discover just why so many big schools have so many "busts". You are being mislead. You buy into a system that is flawed by bias.
Just looking at that spreadsheet shows that the programs with the most fans have the best recruiting classes (subscription revenue). They suck in the fans to read about the latest and greatest recruit... But is he? You accept the status quo. I question it. The arguments you make are only acceptable as long as you buy into the recruiting site system. I do not. I think they're driven by money first, just like any other business.
you do know 3 of UM's last 4 B1G Titles are shared and two are shared with two teams and one of those years UM went 0-2 vs the two teams it shared the title with..
The "shared" Title is really old.. Is UM basketball not going to hang a banner this year because it only won 1/3 a title?
Stars don't matter. Saban recruits the best kids regardless of their stars. He starts recruiting them before they're even ranked on here. Lol. As if Saban is logging on to hear the latest recruiting chatter from guys like us arguing about who should get a 4th star.
If these sites follow his offer list and assign stars accordingly, then that's there own issue. Saban and every other coach isn't going to care.
Stars are an indicator of success.
Then why isn't ND a top 5 team every year??!!?
I'm not going to argue recruiting because I don't really follow very closely but aren't most guys ranked before they commit? You're implying that the recruiting services are biased toward large fanbase schools but they rank the players without knowing where they're going to commit. Eg. how would they know 12 4-stars would commit to Hoke in one weekend prior to it happening?
Because they don't have a decided schematic advantage anymore?
Who is offering before they commit?
you do know they played in the WAC conference. you can go undefeated every year and not be considered elite until you do it in a bcs conference. you think boise would of won 12 games every year in the sec big ten or big 12. will see what they can do without kellen moore
Suppose those same 12 players committed to MSU instead and 247 ranked MSU with a top 5 class. What would be the difference?
