What is the point of sports?
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Somebody said source. Like I said, undereducated
Why the vitriol? I agreed Michigan has more fans. Then the hate started. I'm on Wiley's side. I'll say it again Michigan has a Ron more in state fans then State.
Yes but you didn't give us a source.
There's a massive difference between loving sports and this. This thread is 1000+ pages of pointless negativity.
We have our moments where passing along information and actual discussion happen. It's not a lot but it happens
This. There has been solid discuss in this thread in the past, but for the most part it has become same crap, different day stuff. You have your guys that stay out of the pissing matches, guys that do nothing but flame, guys who act like they are above it... All types.
And it's not going to stop anytime soon. Rivalry baby. 1st, 2nd, 3rd rival, who cares
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
I actually like the pissing match. It makes this thread more fun.
WTF? I'm in Saugatuck I'm on my phone. I gave you the source. Jesus there are guys on here who give stats immediately, one guy who actuall went to the RCMB and found a thread and you can't go to Freep and find it? Then, what I love is some people will say it's an old obscure SURVEY so it doesn't count and one person actually said not to believe the paper. A survey, not opinion. The whole time it was because I agreed with a um poster about fan base size and many more um fans in state then MSU fans. What they don't like is the DEMOGRAPHICS of the fans, and face it, it's because those demographics describe them to a tee.
What ever it's all fun and I'm plaing 36 holes with my daughters tomorrow. I'm beyond lucky. A campfire and music and beer tonight and whoever wins the football game next fall won't change that next summer. Flame away.
Surveys can be misleading. I can set up a survey to get the result i want by asking a certain set of people the questions i want. Basically a survey can be manipulated.
Yes because a survey is 100 percent true all of the time.
Dude, put your phone down and enjoy the sunset with your family.
And don't forget about your romance novels that you enjoy reading while at the cabin. ;)
Have a great week Dwags, step away from the mobile and enjoy your family.
I look forward to putting the mobile down and getting away to the cabin, enjoying time with my family and reading my preseason magazines next week. :)
Thanks you of course are correct. I think we'd actually enjoy some golf and beer sometime.
Then why do you keep bringing up your records against MSU?
What you're saying is that its MSU:1 , UM: 0
i'm fine with that.
Of course you do.
That's not at all what he is saying.
Nope.. I'm simply pointing out that in 2010 MSU was better than Wisconsin due to having the same record and beating them head to head..
OSU wasn't being discussed (and was ruled ineligible anyway)
Well considering Hoke is currently using about 75% of Rich Rod's players, I think the current program is very relevant to the RR years..
And you would be wrong as usual.
OK.. so you UM fans wanted links huh (outside Grantland one I already gave you)
I see the NY Times is floating around- but who cares what they have to say..
Let's go around the nation..
"Surprise is probably the best word to use in describing the reaction after Sugar Bowl officials picked No. 13 Michigan and No. 11 Virginia Tech for its Jan. 3 match up. In the process, these same officials not only bypassed two teams — No. 7 Boise State and No. 8 Kansas State — that were ranked higher in the BCS standings, but also a Michigan State team that defeated the Wolverines earlier this season and was the runner-up to Rose Bowl-bound Wisconsin in the Big Ten.
Regardless of your opinion of the BCS system and its flaws, this much is clear — Sugar Bowl officials wanted Michigan and Virginia Tech and that’s what they got. "
"To see whether the Hokies AND Wolverines are worthy of their at-large BCS bids. Both programs faced a lot of criticism when they were chosen over Kansas State, Boise State and Michigan State. "
"Even now, with kickoff approaching, it is difficult to understand exactly why these teams were matched. Not how, but why. One could argue neither team deserved a BCS berth"
The list goes on and on.. but I'm sure ESPN and SI also have no clue what they're talking about either..
And lest we forget, powerhouse UM put up a whopping 180 total yards of offense and 12 first downs the entire game against the second best team from the sixth best conference Glad they really showed they belonged..
