Oh, they run zone blitzes and have dropped Rush into coverage on more than one occasion.
I remember he dropped the NT vs. IU in 2011 on 3rd and long (3-3-5 set), ended up getting the INT (Drone)
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
In the upset thread, I tossed out the idea of Northwestern losing @Cal. Am I crazy?
Cal going to up tempo, no huddle offense.. might take some time to come together, but the NW secondary isn't exactly lights out..
I could see it for sure
People are high on Cal because of their new coach. I'll take Pat Fitzgerald and his kids, even though its on the road.
I could see Ohio struggling there too. They didn't exactly blow them out in 2012.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
I tend to agree with one major caveat – B10 teams rarely play well out West. Just look at Nebraska @ UCLA and Wisky @ Oregon St last year. Both OSU and NW should beat Cal this year, but it would not surprise me to see at least one of them lose.
If it's Ohio, Columbus will burn to the ground.
Their O should improve as the season goes on, but that D wasn't good LY and only brings back like two starters.. esp if that offense is scoring quickly, that D could be burned often
I'm ok with that.
Always fun.. annual NCAA season simulation for the new NCAA Football
He's now on BR, but used to (maybe still does) write for his own blog, Kegs and Eggs.. think he's Iowa grad too.. anyway, he does this annually.. always fun to look at..
Ohio State 13-1
Michigan State 10-4
Penn State 4-8
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Texas 24, Michigan State 13
Meineke Car Care Bowl: Baylor 42, Michigan 28
You are looking live at the fourth annual EA Sports NCAA Football season simulation, a major offseason landmark and much-anticipated sign that the college football season is fast approaching...

I was just reading that. Its not a prediction, he simulated a Season in NCAA 14 and those are the results.
Simulated video game vs prediction . Is there really any difference? It said Michigan would go 6-7. That's gospel for some.
Yep. That's what I meant. Corrected op
Was more impressed with the MSU BCS Bowl. Apparently that's the only way a team is justified as good
Hope we sell all our ticket allotment
I feel old. I used to look forward to the release of this game and now I had no idea it was being released.
Oh, and it hurts every day that I run also.

More potential violations at UNC the NCAA will almost certainly ignore ...
Well, screw the season, on to Basketball.
But some poor sap school who had a coach at a basketball camp get paid for his work, but that coach had a player that was being recruited will be forced to suspend their coach for one game.
Oh and some school somewhere who let a player use a hose to wash a car will get a post season ban.
It's something like a 9 or 10 p.m. start for Fitzgerald's crew too, so that could be a factor. It more has to do with me not loving Northwestern next year than Cal being particularly awesome.
The only way you can make a BCS Bowl is through a video game.
After a solid performance at the Opening, MSU commit Brian Allen now rated a 94, 4* star on 247, which would put him around 120th overall. Bumped from 89, 3* star.
And yes Wags, this obviously makes him a better player

Meh, he blocked one on one with a dummie behind him. No blitz, no scheme, no complex plays. Some slappies watching that drill and others like them now give him four points because of it? He seems to be strong with a solid base and good feet is what I hear. No game film so far this year and I'd live to see where his head is when he sets for pass pro against a Narduzzi type blitz. Kids 16/17 years old. I'm happy he has passion for football and I wish him nothing but success. Wake me in three years when he might sniff the college field for a couple series.
Sorry to be a wet blanket but I don't get excited about any recruit. Never have, never will. Not my job. Dantonio needs to put 11 scholarship players on the field who have the ability to compete. If he doesn't, here's your severance pay, thanks for your service.
Well, for the purpose of the event, he got a boost because he stoned a pair of DTs that had about 40 pounds on him and who were also rated high (both had 96 ratings). I think the kid is a heck of a C prospect and his wrestling background gives him a great foundation for getting low and using leverage.
Won't matter until 2016 or so, but the kid's a talent.
BTW, I'd prefer it if Dantonio can put 22 scholarship kids on the field who have the ability to compete, with another 44 behind them who can step in with little drop-off .
+ Eleventy billion
Those drills are great but they're so far from game conditions. I was told how great our receivers were doing in 7 on 7's with Maxwell last summer. I allowed myself to get excited. Never again.
I'm happy for the kid. I look forward to 2016.
