Ok, well, it's getting late and this conversation is sort of "boring", to steal a word from that other guy, so I'm gonna head out. Fun chatting with you, though, as always.
Wow, just wow.
Honestly, can we believe anything this guy says in the future?
Are you heading out? On the road? Good luck!
I don't think we can. It's the arrogance/ignorance deadly UM fan combo.
You do realize we are playing essential the bottom half of the big ten?
Not picking a certain year, the modern era of football is considered 1950 and after.
MSU has won 6 National Championships and UM one in that time frame.
Dr Opti, providing wisdom;one message at a time.
No, MSU has CLAIMED 6 National Championships. I'm not gonna get into those again. And the modern era is different to whoever you ask.
You say that like it means something.
The B1G could have 8 tourney teams, and I expect nearly every tourney team to defend its home court well.
laconophilia is everywhere...
How many national championships does UM have?
Modern era of football is completely subjective. I think it starts in in 1970 then. Michigan has one MNC and MSU case zero in that timeframe. See what I did there?
The NCAA website has a year-by-year list of the FBS national championships it recognizes. According to that list, Michigan has 9 and MSU has 3. If Michigan counted all of the NC's it has been awarded over the years by all the different selectors, we would have 22 (which is how MSU gets to 6). No one takes those numbers seriously. Other than the official NCAA list, the only other widely cited third-party list is the one put together by the CFDW. The CFDW recognizes 11 for Michigan and 4 for MSU.
No no no. It starts in 2010, making MSU one of the top 10 most winningest teams in the modern era.
Hate to say it, but there's a fair argument that modern history started in 1978. Which would give a 1 title advantage to UM.
Not an argument the vast majority of knowledgeable CFB fans would accept.
Umm opti is in good enough with the program that he has called plays during games before. Step off.

It would be one each then.
Whatever. I called Rocket Right to beat Wisconsin.
How did this thread get away from talking about the basketball game, and venture off into...
The past...the past...the past?

An MSU fan brought it up.
What do you guys call all the uneducated black men who root for MSU? Peanut Factory Spartans?

True . . . but you'd find very few who'd argue that it started prior to the '50s.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
What happened to Bacari's pre-game speech? Was Beilein getting jealous of his air time?
Good thing you edited that.
