Didn't really make a comparison to Charlie Ward. Used Charlie Ward as evidence that not all great college QBs get drafted into the NFL. But Nigel fails to realize that is what i was doing.
The overall point is that I don't think you can declare Gardner a "great talent" at this point. I'm certainly not proclaiming that Maxwell is a sure-fire stud either.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
You mean do I shoot down stupid theories that people have?
All the time.
So if I worded it wrong, you're not comparing the 2 straight up, just giving an example of a great college QB who didn't play in the NFL.
More embarrassed for your program than happy to be honest. It did put a grin on my face though.
And why do you need us to lose games to the Indiana's of the world? Since Michigan is BACK, shouldn't you guys just take care of your own business and win every game? That's little brother talk right there.
Your a retard.
So someone saying a person can be a great college QB and not play down in the NFL is a stupid? Someone made an example, you rambled on about nonsense and now here we are.
Your theory that theory is stupid, is stupid.
This is what Nigel said:
Seems like a great college QB (better than Vick) would get drafted as a QB.
Charlie Ward was my evidence that this isn't always the case.
Delayed double post......

Nobody is saying Gardner is a sure-fire stud, just that he is projected to be the starter in 2013. He is waiting on a 3 year starter similar to what Maxwell did waiting on Cousins.
Just thought about this, but if Denard and Michigan have a season similar to this year, he will end up with more wins than Cousins. I don't think it will happen, but it is possible.
It is not unique to you. I would want any team ahead of us to lose. I also hope OSU loses again so we don't have to share the title with them. It's simple math.
Not really, Michigan didn't put itself in a position to control its own destiny. Therefore, Michigan needs MSU to lose 1. Little brother talk is taking solace in the fact that MSU would lose even if Michigan lost. Which none of us are doing.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Shoelaces as . . . 18 wins as a starter, right? Only reason I put the ? there is that I don't recall if he missed a start or two in '10 due to injury.
KC won 5 in '09 (Nichol won the IL game as KC sat out injured), 11 in '10 and 11 in '11 for a total of 27 Ws. Denard needs at least 9 wins this season to pass him. Definitely possible, though I think he needs 11 to be safe (pretty sure he did miss a start or two, but a UM fan can confirm).
Re: Gardner, I agree he's the projected starter in '13 and I'm with you on his back-up. It's just Klima stirring the pot with the "he's a great talent" comment. Could he turn out that way? Of course! Has he proven it yet? Of course not! Same situation with Maxwell. We'll know about Maxwell this year, and Gardner in 2013 (at the latest. I think Hoke will try to get him more snaps this year).
Denard hasn't missed a start.
Denard started every game in 2010.
I think that he could be defined as a great talent. Just not as a sure fire stud. Great talents turn out to be busts all the time because of decision making, injuries, or a lack of maturity. I definitely think that the kid is talented enough.
I would have to check, but I think he started every game we won, he got knocked out a couple times, but started the games.
In that case he needs 9 to tie KC and 10 to pass him.
I see what you're saying and I think it's a matter of definition. What you call great talent I'd call great potential . . . but we arrive in the same spot. Dumb of me to pursue any distinction further; we see eye to eye.

I would be really really disappointed if he doesn't get 9 wins this year.
Oh shit, just realized you guys were talking basketball. My bad, friends.
Measuring a QB by number of wins is idiotic... especially when a QB performs well but his team's defense sucked balls (Robinson in 2010, Cousins in 2009).
The only sure loss I see on the schedule is Bama. I think Michigan can and will compete or win in all of their other games.
