Anddddd you're way off again.
Michigan was Corey's #2, not UVA, Jesus you really are clueless.
As for tenuta, our O that ranked 100 outbox 119, put up over 400 yards in him, why the hell would we be scared? He is awful, you don't get fired from 3 consecutive jobs for being good.
Exactly, that's all Tenuta does, blitz like shit. He has been canned at 3 straight jobs.
I'd grade the hires
TOB- B to B+
UTEP guy-Don't know enough about him
Hagans- Unproven so can't really gauge him, but I think taking a shot on a young kid like that is a good idea somewhere on the staff. So I give the idea a B
I laugh when people compare Franks first three years to ML's.. VT was independent, UVA has been in the ACC. ML did not take over a nonexistent program.
My point is, ML is not a good coach, and its obvious.
It's not about where you're from, it's about what you've done..
He was not canned at 3 straight jobs. Paul Johnson wanted to bring in his own staff at GT. Same with Brian Kelly at ND. And he was not fired at NCSU. I know you love to bash all things UVa, but come on man.
So he wasnt canned, but he wasnt retained? Exactly what is that then?
Bash all things UVA, or be realistic? I just said TOB hire was a B to B+, and Hagans was a B, thats hardly bashing. I wouldve said said they all sucked if I was just looking to trash yall. I know you love to spin everything UVA, but come on man.
It's not canned, that's for sure. His defense finished 12th in his last year at GT. Why would GT 'can' him after that?
Here are Tenutas last 2 takeovers, he was not retained after his first year as DC at either.
2011- Pre Tentuta as DC- 58th ranked D
2012- Tenuta as DC- 77th ranked D
2008- Pre Tenuta- 42nd ranked D
2009- Tenuta as DC- 66th ranked D
Nice redirect attempt. Are you a lawyer? Was he canned three straight jobs? No.
Im not redirecting at all, I started that post before I saw yours. Tenuta was forced to leave by all of his previous 3 employers, right or wrong?
Steelcav, i will say this about 5284...he is honest. He even bashes his hokies out of honesty, so doing it to the Hoos is not difficult at all. I ask...why do uva fans think vt fears them? Remove the rivalry aspect...you cant actually think this, do you?
I'm not sure why you're asking me that question, but I can speak for myself and say that I do not think VT fears us in terms of football. That's ludicrous. On the contrary, I am envious and jealous of your football program.
We aren't firing OCain or Newsome....but they aren't coming back, we just aren't firing them, we are letting them retire or find other jobs. Your admin should take notes.
I admit, we botched that job.
The way that went down just makes one think you all wanted a contingency plan in case things got worse in the early goings next year....which is a great idea. If you all start off really bad next year and London is the same on the sidelines, just hand off to TOB. If things go well its money well spent. This was a good hire.
Tenuta: I think you should have kept Reid if this was the best you could do...unless TOB wanted this as part of his deal to come?
IMHO, the AD likes having TOB on board as a contingency, but I really think TOB came here to be an assistant first and foremost. The way we fired Reid and crew was handled poorly, but I was not a fan of his defense and am very excited at the prospect of an attacking D like the one Tenuta draws up. Requires lock down corners, so this year may experience some growing pains. It's been a very, very long time since we had an attacking, ball-hawking D...going back to the Lantz days.
You know what, I'm beginning to think you have some other issues, you think you know all, but I'll give you a clue, we all laugh at you behind your back even your fellow fans. So if you think you look important trying to discredit everything anybody has to say so that you get the last word. Your real life must suck balls. Jus Sayin!! I'll be on a crusade from here on out to stick anything bad that happens to the Hokies straight in your face. No disrespect meant to some of the other posters on this thread that are Hokie fans that this doesn't apply to.
WAHOO 4 LIFE!!
Your the dumbass Tenuta wasn't even NC State's DC. And you call me clueless!!
On a serious note, I think this here is awesome whether it's UVA or any other college giving this kid a chance to continue his career at the next level after a horrific accident.
Jacob Raineys amazing tale is getting a Division I football chapter.
That would be you're, idiot.
And he was the associate head coach of defense, which is essentially the DC.
Yes, my own fans hate me, especially the 20 friends if mine that are currently posting on here and the grounds.
My real life blows so badly. If you only knew.
This is my thought as well. I thought Reid did a very good job with what he had to work with last year.
I saw that, also watched the E60 on him, great story.
Regardless of title, Tenuta was not calling the plays; Archer was. I imagine he was involved in a high level with some of the game planning, but when the game came on, I'm pretty sure the calls were Archer's. It's not essentially being the DC unless it's your scheme being implemented or your calls on game day.
That said, I'm still interested to see how a Tenuta run defense looks. As you mentioned, I thought Reid did fine with what he had, but hopefully, Tenuta can be more disruptive.
As far as your friends are concerned, I'm glad you only have twenty, so you can still count them on all of your digits. That makes it easy, though I may be making a pretty steep assumption that you actually have all your limbs and extremities intact.
Who said pep isn't coming?
Your know it all 5284 told us.
