It was a pretty cool feature.

You clearly didn't bother to read the rest of my posts ITT. And Hoo-sponse? Belly buttons?

Clearly you didn't bother to answer my question, because nothing you have posted tells "me how a D-IA Independent VT in the 80's is the same as an already established ACC UVA in 2010's"
Stop trying to be a smartass with your "clearly" bullshit and answer the question.

My other posts in this thread indicate this, but the example I was trying to make was that holding on to Frank Beamer paid off for you all, and I think that holding on to Mike London is a better strategy than dumping him and starting over.
I wasn't trying to say the programs were perfect substitutes, or that our program in 2010 was where yours was in the 80s. Your program was in far worse shape in the 80s than ours was when London took over. What I was trying to suggest was that sometimes, holding on to a losing coach pays off and that at this point, I'm willing to take that risk rather than firing London and trying someone new.
Was I thrilled when Mike London was hired? No. Did I think he was overpaid? Yes. Do I think he can be a good coach? Jury is still out, and I'm giving him until after the 2014 season to show results, just as you all gave Beamer time. Where the starting point is for either program is irrelevant. I'm measuring in terms of growth more than in absolutes.
All of this was said in my previous posts, following the one you quoted, in this same topic. That's what I meant by "clearly," because you interpreted my post as something I didn't intend it to mean despite the fact that I later clarified my meaning. That's not a criticism, because going back and reading my original post again I can see that that's a perfectly normal interpretation of what I wrote, despite the fact that it's not what I intended by writing it.
Does this satisfy your question? Or am I still a "smartass" and "bullshitting" you?
No you're response does not satisfy my question however I appreciate your response nonetheless.
You said "Where the starting point is for either program is irrelevant. I'm measuring in terms of growth more than in absolutes" however you compared FB's records during his first years to ML's records, and not once spoke of growth. What growth? We field the same amount of players and recruit the same areas. If the starting point is irrelevant than why compare records in the OP between coaches who where not on the same playing level when they took over their programs?
My point is UVA had an established program when ML took over, FB did not, so to compare the two is a nonargument.
Now in terms of growth, FB built the VT football program. What has ML done (or what is he doing) to expand a program that is already established? Don't forget UVA was number 1 for three weeks in 1990; FB's third year.

I upvoted you cause that is just how I roll.
i heard commentators during games talk about Frank's bumpy start, and saying it could never happen today because everyone wants immediate results. So, it is hard to imagine London surviving more than one more year, unless there is significant improvement. And also, even a bad year might be survivable if he has a very strong 2014 class committed. Hard to say.
There is apparently someone named Jeff Allen at my work I found out today. I'm 99.99% sure it's not him, but I'm still holding out hope he walks into this meeting we're both scheduled for on Monday.
Meetings, bad. We were bought out. Going from private company to public. What a frekkin nightmare.
I think VBHoo nailed it on your board.
Refs love Duke like always but it really didn't matter. Even if we played our best game of the year we wouldn't win. Green can never get any help. If anyone else on the team could shoot he would avg about 8 assists a game.
Chances you hang onto Chris Nelson? 15% imo.
Green was 1-2 on 3 pointers. The rest of the team was 0-14.
I can't figure him out. Seems like he committed to UVA just to hold his place because he knew the class would be small. That being said he is looking around a lot. I think depending on how the class shapes up, London may Hippolito him.
Honestly Derrin Myers from GC is a player I would rather see us get involved with. Kid is a mountain.
Marshawn Williams, SMDH. What is going on with this kid.
THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
I think he'll stick but he's feeling left out because everyone backed off him. He just wants to play the game and get some attention. Who knows though.
Good god he's 6'1" 330? Thats Vince Wilfork size and this kid is 17 years old. Kid would be a nasty NT in a 3-4. He's got some good offers/interest too.

I like your sig pic..
Chris Nelson is your Marshawn Williams. Both may keep them but they are going to frustrate the hell out of both programs fans.
WAHOO 4 LIFE!!
It's been reported he will be at our Junior Day this Sunday.
Exactly what I was referring to.. Our coaches can't like that one bit.
If the VT coaches think Williams attending our Junior day is bad, they are going to be really pissed when they see the list of players attending Blanding's announcement Wednesday. I think little shane may throw a temper tantrum. Somebody's momma is going to get a good cussin.
Well played sir
Yeah. I'd hate to have to feed him. Tenuta has mentioned we might be running some 3-4. Seems like this kid would be a perfect NT. He's been showing well on the camp circuit I hear, so he'll most likely blow up soon. His videos on HUDL are a little lackluster, but you can't teach that size.
