Because recruiting isn't everything. Your coaches sucked then and your coaches suck now.
a top 10 and player ranked higher than any VT commit ever already in the class?
Nah, still not seeing it. London has his faults, but the assistant coaches improved in the offseason.
Weird, Kevin Jones was #1 in the nation. Pretty epic that Blanding topped that
It's nice to have talent but if you don't have coaching to develop that talent it's not going to do you much good. I just don't think you have the coaches to do that. As far as recruiting is concerned you're going to need several years in a row of top classes to even get to where the Hokies are. I just don't think Mike London has that long to turn UVa's program around. He has one maybe two years imo.
Let's see if your singing the same tune come September
Please do your research before posting, lookup Kevin Jones.
THE ONLY THING I'M ADDICTED TO IS WINNING--CHARLIE SHEEN
I'm reserving judgement until London is playing with all of his players. 2014 will be his make or break year.
In what ranking system?
"He was the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation, and could not decide between Penn State and Virginia Tech, eventually choosing to be a Hokie to the surprise of many. He said, "If you're a blue-chipper from Pennsylvania, you go to Penn State. But I've always been a little contrary. On the day of my press conference, I still hadn't decided between Virginia Tech and PSU. As I sat down in front of everybody, I had both jerseys with me. I pulled the Penn State jersey out of a bag and said, "I will ... not be attending Penn State." Then I ripped off my sweater and had a Mike Vick jersey on underneath. The entire room was flabbergasted. Afterward, I got plenty of hate mail, lots of it racial. People weren't afraid to use the N-word."
From his Wiki page
"High School: The most highly-rated recruit in Virginia Tech history ... Ranked the nation's top high school player in 2000 by SuperPrep, Max Emfinger's Blue Chip Recruiting, Rivals and Student Sports"

The question is, can the new assistants overcome London as HC? You guys ever thought of red-shirting London?
There ya go, talkin' out of the wrong orifice once again.
First question is a fair question. Remains to be seen.
But the question is will he stay in your class
The answer is most likely not.
I'd like both, but getting the #1 player in the country is special.
In a year where kids ranked 1-15 are all 4+ stars in VA... there are enough for both schools. You'll get the breds, but we'll get our fair share too. Both classes could be ranked VERY high when its all said and done. UVA will get the pub like Ole Miss last year because well... you guys aren't very good. But i see both schools in the top 15 by the end of the year.
O'Brian is a good coach. Tenuta... eh. London is a better recruiter than coach. The rest are unknowns.
Yeah, we've had more than a few Blanding's over the years...
Nice troll attempt, but Blanding is not going anywhere. He's about as close to a lock to UVA as it gets. He will sign with UVA. The other 3... well that remains to be seen. Especially if Watford and Sims get treated poorly.
Depends if UVA has another 4-8 year and the staff gets canned.
You know I agree with you that if you win you your crowds will increase. But don't sugar coat it. As far as the class Once you get these next three or four lets see who you finish with before the coronation of best ever.
you have to be joking, your "coach" had a team full of his players last year! especially at QB!!

So the whole team was full of his recruits in only his third year of coaching? Holy time machine Batman!
UVA will be lucky to win 3 games.
I think he meant most of the players on the team are his players. One more year of "his players" (or two or three for that matter) isn't going to make a difference.
