have to agree with you , Wells is not what the yanks need to make it back to the big stage

Yeah, as a Yankees fan, this has been pretty hard to watch. The two sons each got different aspects of George's personality - Hal got the business sense, Hank got the brash, win-at-all-costs mentality, but they can't put it together. Neither of them love the Yankees the way George did - George would've been willing to turn the Yankees into a completely unprofitable enterprise if it meant more rings.
Yankee fan and a Michigan fan? Yuck.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
just got back my friend , still having to work a ton but making more time to hit the board when i can ; hows everything going on with you ?
yeah its to bad Hank isnt running things as he gets it - still an amazing franchise but not what it once was
Raised in NY, family from Michigan. It happens. If it's any consolation, I'm also a Bills fan, so at least we can commiserate about our respectively awful NFL teams. (Assuming you're a Browns fan, that is).
do you think we'll make the playoffs? I think we got a good chance I like our offense a lot..
I remember hearing rumblings about Cano's next contract, and feeling a weird disturbance in the force. Under George, we'd never have even entertained the notion of a homegrown superstar hitting the open market in the prime of his career. There's a reason Jeter, Posada, Williams, and Rivera were all lifetime Yankees. Hell, I even throw Pettitte in there - as soon as he showed he could still pitch in Houston, we snatched him back up.
yeah its a totally different approach that long time Yankee fans arent going to be fond of
Pretty good. New job and just waiting for the start of the Braves' season.
hope its going to be a great year for us this year , really excited about the start of the season
FWIW all those guys you mentioned probably would have been traded early on in their careers had George not been banned from baseball for a period of time. Not knocking George. He is the GOAT as far as professional owners go. Just think it was a perfect storm , so to speak, him getting banned and those guys coming thru the system all together.
Why do you think they would've all been traded early in their careers?
I want to up vote myself for not referencing how being a Yankee fan now is like being a democrat and having to learn that you cant spend at will. LOL
The two situations aren't analogous at all, and your characterization of Democrats is wildly over-generalized. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back though, because you're the only one who'll do so.
In the 80s George was famous for signing the big name guys and trading all the young talent. Tewksbury, drabek, and a bunch of others i cant think of right now. Of course the big name signing always tanked in the bronx. Just think it was good timing with these guys
Come on it was a joke
, thought as much
As far as Canos deal, if they let him go, the first one he should punch is ARod. then Teixeira. think ARODS issues and rapid decline and Texs recent injuries have soured the yanks on long term deals, but we will see
hope the new job goes well for you and im with you on the start of baseball
