Compare the league RPIs and SOS from 2003-2004 to 2012-2013. Incredible.

I'm not going to lie, I can't name one BBall coach or player in the entire league not on my team. And on my team I know the head coaches name and about 3 players. It's just hard to go from football to basketball so quickly. If it was over the Summer it might be different IMO. I can't get into it though I try every year.
About the time football dominance started. Maybe everyone just started to send all their money to football players instead of basketball.
It's baseball season, bruh.
Today I learned that the SEC also plays basketball.
In a time long long ago we actually won games out of conference and sent many teams to the NCAA Tournament.
Basketball is just to fill the gap between football, baseball, and spring practice. College basketball everywhere is down IMHO. For some reason, I can't name one superstar out there right now.
My son's message to Obama, Clemson, and Georgia
Interesting that you say that, considering how great Miami is doing (assuming you're a Miami fan, from your avatar).
College baseball lol.

I don't know how people can dislike CBB so much. Regular season maybe, but March Madness trumps all other college championship seasons. Bowl season (and the eventual playoff) will not touch MM IMO.
Great to be a Gator :feelsgoodman:

It'll be a different story in the O'Connell Center
Oh I know. Arkansas will lose by 30.
Hell no. I lost a sig bet last year for the election. I have to have that damn thing for another 8 months or so. I am a South Carolina fan.

Winningest Program in College Football since 1990!
I don't believe you. Everyone knows John Calipari is the coach at Kentucky. I bet you know Billy Donovan is the Florida coach too. You're just a G-D liar!
I try to get into basketball and I follow our team, recruiting somewhat, what our chances are of making the tourney, etc. It's just extremely hard to get into it when your team sucks, it's an UNWATCHABLE brand of basketball being played, and the level of excitement from fellow fans is MAYBE 10% of what it is for football. Also, football Gamedays are awesome because they're always on Saturday so you don't have to work and you can tailgate and drink all day with your friends, watch a bunch of other games. There is one official Gameday. In basketball, you play a mid-week game every week and it's impossible to get to most games if you don't live close to campus. I'm sorry but Tuesday night games at 6pm or 8pm don't really excite me.
Basketball just isn't football and never will be down here.
Wait teams can miss the tourney??
Sorry. Outside of players, basketball is only important in the southeast to people who don't like to go outside.
NC and Kentucky excluded.
Yep. Don't even really know who is on my team outside of about 2 guys. Doesn't help that we suck real bad. Bring back Olympic wrestling, IMO.
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
November 14th, 2009: The day basketball officially died in the SEC.
Bama's taken advantage and sitting at 2nd in the league for 2nd time in 3 years.
My question is this: When did we become such a culture of FOOTBALL FANS instead of SPORTS FANS?
