My point is..what one person/or individuals from one region considers better, another person from the other side of the country does not. I'm just presenting another view.
The mountains surrounding the ocean plus the varied plant/tree life - aside from just palm trees, is more appealing to many of us here, we are accustomed to including that as the surrounding beach area. Some of us prefer to not see flat land..even if the beach and sand is pleasing to the eye...boring after a while.
