So, here's the question: If OSU and Bama were to play this year, what do you think the final score would be?
at you twisting things to make it in your favor.
You forgot to mention that we scheduled a home and home with Texas, USC, and Miami 6 of the last 10 years.
You'll wait for us to be able to beat a top tier SEC team? You think your better than Ohio St because you beat UF with them on a down year? That's just laughable.
As far as getting beat my Bama, I think we all realize that to be true (at least those of us who are rational) but I guess you can predict the future, so we might as well not even play the season... Bama is just that good...
Even though they lost a game, and probably should of lost 2 more (LSU and MAYBE UGA)
How can you predict a game at the end of the season, when we haven't even seen anyone play?
Again, you're allowed to think OSU is elite.
When did I ever say I think Michigan is better than OSU right now? And who cares about who you've scheduled in the last 10 years? I just think it's the height of hubris to assume that a 12-0 record with one of the weakest schedules ever seen in an AQ conference somehow makes you deserving of the #1 spot over the back-to-back National Champs. You admit it - if OSU played Bama, they'd get worked. HARD. OSU also has a god-awful record against the SEC in general. Therefore, given the SEC's recent dominance, I'll wait for OSU to beat a top-tier SEC team before I anoint them as a #1 team. I don't see what's so controversial about that.
It's pretty easy. Everyone on this board takes guesses at what their record will end up being. You just pick two numbers that sound about right, and bam! There's your prediction.
I apologize if that process is too confusing for you.
It's shaping up to be a OSU vs Louisville title game, since both have ridiculously easy schedules. It's a shame to since either team couldn't beat anyone in the top 5.
Eh, if that's what it ends up being, it'll be a fitting way to finally bury the BCS and usher in the era of the playoff.
Also, while OSU has a good chance of going to an NC based on their overall schedule, I'm not about to hand them The Game or the B1G championship yet, not when last year was only a one-score game and both teams have improved since then.
man i see a very common theme in this thread.. people saying osu "sucks" because they lost to
flordia in 06
LSU in 07
then citing a hypothetical loss to Alabama in '13?
are we so good that we only are compared against the best a 14 team conference can offer in a given year? Let alone the "best confrence in football!!!".
seems like a nice standard to hold ourselves by. you wont see me trying to apologize for expectations.
Not saying they suck, just overrated. "Elite" by default. But then they'll say, "But we "appeared" in the title games. Yeah well so did Notre Dame this year, but yet they'll hold that against us. Saying we didn't belong, newsflash....NEITHER DID YOU.
Got ran off the big stage TWICE by the TRUE elite teams. OSU is more of a wannabe or a pretender.
The ESPN poll isn't a power-ranking, it's prediction of the BCS ranking after the end of the regular season--tOSU has a very weak SOS.
Re a Saban-Urban match-up, we already know how that ended... with Urban getting panic attacks and retiring (twice). There's no way that Urban's tOSU team can beat Saban's Bama team.
Found a diamond in a turd mine.^^^^^
The guy that raped me had a big cock, so that means I have a big one, too! OSU!

It is not just espn, it is too many top-25 voters who use their polls as "self-fulfilling" prophecies. Have these teams with easy ass schedules, rank them high in the pre-season and when they get through it undefeated or with 1 loss, they can say see, I knew what I was doing all along. Ridiculous.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Like Bamas easy ass sched the past 4 yrs?
I'm trying to not post in troll threads....but...I'm a little confused on a few things ....
Michigan beat the 07 Florida team........Ohio State beat the 07 Michigan team.......so why does it matter what Michigan did to a team a year after a National title, and a year before another National title? Ohio State beat Michigan in 06 & 08 in case you were wondering.
Fore some reason ND fans are taking shots, you've played in four BCS games, lost all four by a an average score of 39 to 14. One of those BCS games came against Ohio State.
Now I'm not going to sit here and say that I think Ohio State would have beat Bama last year, because they wouldn't have. I don't think they would beat them in 2013. I do know that Ohio State beat Michigan last year, I feel 100% confident Ohio State would have beat ND last year. 2013, We will find out who wins between Ohio State and Michigan, and God help us if ND happens to land in another BCS game, because they will probably lose by about 25 points, give or take.

Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
This isn't a troll thread. I've always had this sentiment regarding OSU. But I love how you're quick to call it a troll thread just because someone has an opinion other than what you guys think you are.
And I'm not "taking shots" either. Don't get me wrong OSU gets some dap. But regarding the TRUEelite of college football you guys might not make the cut. And no neither do the Irish either.
CMXI is just upset that they aren't going to be the offseason champs this year...
Jabrill Peppers says .
Regarding the strength of schedule argument...Going back 8 years (2005/06), average SOS:
So does Webb
Does that include bowl games?
I could see that giving OSU a boost since they played for better hardware during that time period
What is your SOS source? Cause that doesn't look accurate at all. I am guessing it is not Sagarin, and therefore not admissible as an accurate SOS.

Meh. He's good, but I'd rather have Jabrill Peppers any day.
EDIT: And Drake Harris, and Malik McDowell, and DaShawn Hand...
