This is worse than the Cam thing, if NCAA allows

  • Because if they agree to this without serious sanctions, they just said you're allowed to lie to the NCAA, and nothing bad will happen other than you're allowed to pick your own punishment.

Forget the players. Don't give a sh!t about them. This is a Coach BLATANTLY lying to the NCAA about not knowing of illegal activitiy in his program, proceeding to play those players is if nothing was wrong, lying about not knowing they were doing this stuff,...and when caught. Essentially saying "FU, Deal with it".

Akron and Toldeo. Wow. I hate the NCAA. My program follows the rules to the letter, and we get punished for it., There's 0% chance we would have allowed those players if we knew they were breaking NCAA rules. We've suspended star players for bowl games without ever having to.

I wish the NCAA would just get rid of all rules. That would make it more fair. All they do now is reward the teams that break the rules.

I think it's going to be really unfair if Bruce Pearl gets the hammer by the NCAA and Tressel only receives a two game suspension. Everybody has dogged Bruce all year for what he did, but ole Saint Tressel might walk away with this with a slap on his wrist.

    Go Vols

  • no way can the hammer not come down hard on him. if the NCAA wants to save the little integrity it has left, a 2 game suspension against teams that Rich Rod could beat really isn't really fair to those that play by the rules. this is where the B1G needs to step in and suspend him from conference games

That's just it. I think Delany is so terrified of the SEC he'll go the other direction. I think he wants Ohio State to be pulling in recruits like crazy.

  • well, keep a close eye on what Bruce Pearl's enforcement turns out to be(not the allegations letter UT just received), which should come out by the end of summer. I'd say that whatever Bruce gets will be somewhat close to what Tressel gets. however, also keep in mind that Tennessee docked Pearl's pay 1.5 million, took all coaches off the road (Pearl for one complete year), and the SEC also hammered Pearl with the 8 conference game suspension. OSU's self-imposed penalties pale in comparison imo. I doubt the Big Whateverthenumber will have the audacity(if they're even capable) to impose conference sanctions like Mike Slive did... the old wrinkled codger.

I think OSU fans will be or should be the most interested in how you guys come out. I think you are dead on though. I don't know the whole situation though. If JT did completely lie to the NCAA with no real excuse than it would seem NCAA would have to do basically same thing to both programs. UT took a lot more money from Pearl but OSU already suspended him for 2 games. I think if JT did lie to them this will not fly at all.
