Big get for us. LSU did you guys not recruit him hard or what? No flame, just interesting to see a kid from Baton Rouge leave the state.
he goes to HS on campus in BR. LSU backed off months ago. True story
GET AT ME
Story I heard was they thought he had some issues...
We did until the fall. At that point the staff backed off. Word was academics, work ethic and a couple of off field things but never was anything fully substantiated. Our guys didn't want to sully his name being a kid and all. He tried committing in the last week-10 days and was told no. Talented kid but is smaller than listed and needs to be kicked in the ass. If you guys can get him to play hard then he'll be a good one if he can add the weight needed
Jtmv, is it his height or weight thay is wrong? I didn't think he would be a take either until this weekend but we need a couple pass rushers in this class, so I can see why he would be now.
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
He is listed as 6'3 220. He looks maybe 6'1. Is the 6'3 accurate? Plucking a guy from BR that LSU clearly backed off of, doesn't exactly give me the warm and fuzzies. He looks fast and athletic, but undersized. He doesn't look like the #1 prospect in Louisiana, thats for sure.
Everything the other LSU guys have said...plus he is no longer ranked the #1 player in Louisiana. If Bama can get him to stay on his game, they will have an athletic kid. Nothing more to say.
"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in life." - Former LSU Coach and AD Paul Dietzel
I think his listed height/weight has been a little high. Although, after seeing him in person this year, he does have a frame that can fill out. He will be a project, for lack of a better term, but he can be a good player if everything comes together...it's just getting everything to come together that might be the issue.
That's Cool, if comes in with the right attitude he'll be fine.
I agree. Wish the kid luck. It might actually be good for him to get away from Louisiana.
Closer to 6'1"-6'2" 215-220. He has his moments of wow, then you will wonder if the kid is even in the game and that was in 1A football. For some reason the LSU coaches made it clear that they were going to let Tim go months ago. I dont want to continue or start rumors but there was something wrong that LSU didnt want to take the kid or keep recruiting him. It will he interesting to see how the kid turns out. I think it could either be a boom if he learns how to adapt to LB or total bust.

Well if he doesn't get his act together under Saban he's not going to be around very long. Maybe Saban can light a fire under him.
I like the pick up. Guy will come in with a chip on his shoulder to prove the hometown wrong. It's really a win/win taking him. If hes let go, it frees up another spot on down the lines
Miami fans were sure confident on getting him......
I think distance and possible sanctions at Miami changed that.

Distance is the key. Really started to hit him recently that he didn't want to be that far from his daughter, hence the attempted commit to LSU last week. I wish the kid luck as I would any other kid. He's loaded with talent and just needs to be pushed to be the best he can be. If Saban and company can't get to him then no one will. Definitely worth a flier imo. I wish we would've taken one to be honest.
I remember when LSU 'backed off" Eddie Lacy.
