The 1994 Penn State team had a strong offense. It was enjoyable. I have a lot of memories from that offense. I can still remember them winning a game in snow when I returned home after a high school football playoff game.
As you will be able to see from the season scores, Penn State didn't have the defense. I doubt they would have been able to stop Nebraska's offense.

Yeah, its apples and oranges.
The runs of Bama and OU back in the day was a lot easier than todays game. Too much parity in the game today with schollie limits and athletes being molded from a very early age. If Bama keeps it up for another two years, gonna have to put them at the top.
There were a handful of major powers back then. The top teams were tough as @#$% to beat and when they went head to head it was exciting to watch. Teams these days don't have the depth and every team has weaknesses. That is why you don't see the same style of domination.
You should watch the Nebraska vs Florida national title game and pray your dear Alabama team didn't have to play against that.
The 1995 Nebraska team is the best college football team to ever put on football pads and a helmet.
Winning the NC title these days is much, much harder than it was back then. Comparing a dynasty in 1940 to 2013 is terrible. It's ridiculously harder to win nowadays
Mfld like your rational approach to things Not like some others that are just blinded by school pride. Good debate. Would have loved have seen it on the field.
Edit: until I saw that comment about 95 being the best ever. Lol

Are you insane? We'd have ran the option for 5 touchdowns on you
The new scholarship limitations rule has changed college football completely. Back then, a few teams could be good. Now, when you play in a great conference, any team can beat you any week. It's not up for debate, it's harder these days to win a NC.
Thanks for backing up our point.
There were a "handful" of powerhouses back then. Bama has at least two opponents in its own division every year that could beat anyone on any given Saturday.
And just to be sure, you want Bama fans to pray that a hypothetical situation with a current team and a team from 15+yrs doesn't come true?
No, the national powers back then were better than the teams of today. 1995 Nebraska would have throttled any of your alabama teams....even worse than they did to Florida in the title game.

Good luck trying to convince the Corn Huskers. It's the only thing they can hang on to these days.
Look here buddy, I'll come over there and ring your neck. I'm trying to be polite. Don't talk smack when you're over the web.
Just a question for everyone in here. When do you stop counting wins/Natty titles?
Late sixties/ early seventies is where I draw the line. It is after the civil rights movement and the NCAA had by then started to level out. I could care less what happened before then it is all meaningless IMO.
Good luck trying to convince Bammer. They think McCarron and Mcelgay would have thrown on us and Trent and Ingram would run on us. Wouldn't happen
So with our O-Line last year you don't think we could run on you? Interesting...
Oh hellz nawz
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
Just look at those scores and also watch the Nebraska vs Florida national title game and then ask your question again.

Not dogging on mfld here. Just upset that we haven't been able to string together a real nationally respectful year. This year will definitely be the best opportunity to prove something in a while.
That is a different discussion STOOBIE. That type of discussion should remain on the home board where that talk is done on a regular basis. It would be awesome to become the third program to have a third dynasty. I would put money on USC or Miami most likely to be the other program to get it done for a third time. Alabama is still in the process with their third dynasty so it will be a long time before they have a fourth. Notre Dame could do it, but I'm not sure they will.

Did the Peters admit to using Cocaine before games?
Deer Antler Spray for the win! lol.
