We're close to halfway through the regular season, so let's pretend the NFL Draft was tomorrow and for whatever reason you were hired to make the picks for an NFL team. What would your big board look like for QBs at this point in time?
1- Geno Smith
2- Matt Barkley
3- Tyler Wilson
4- Logan Thomas
5- Tyler Bray
6- Mike Glennon
7- EJ Manuel
These are the only ones I have really watched play that I know NFL scouts will take long looks at and that is how I would rank them
Terrible year for QB's imo, I could probably only draft one of them ( Geno ) and feel good about it when I awoke the next morning

No Landry Jones or Aaron Murray?
1 Geno Smith
2 Matt Barkley
3 Tyler Bray
4 Logan Thomas
5 Tyler Wilson
6 Mike Glennon
7 EJ Manuel
8 Ryan Nassib
9 Aaron Murray
10 AJ McCarron
Bray over Wilson?

I'd move Thomas to 7 and move Glennon to 4.
IMO he is not an NFL talent
I like this list, but i would replace Murray with AJ McCarron.
I just haven't been impressed with Murray's play this year, i'm no pro scout either.
Geno throws BBs when he needs to, but i'd like to see him against a good D. i mean, don't get me wrong, the kid is great, but half the time, his players are miles down the field so wide open, i could pass to them.
again - he's great, just would like to see him against a D like ND or Bama at this stage. but if he continues to impress he'll have a RG3 year and go #1.
I still think Barkley ends up going #1. He has taken some hits this year, but I think he ends strong and puts his name back on top. Geno, unless something happens I do see happening has planted himself as the #2 guy though, IMO and probably will end up being the #2 or 3 pick in the draft depending on what the teams' needs are at them top of the draft. After that, I think guys like Bray, Wilson, and Glennon right now have positioned themselves to sneak into the 1st round. Murray still could as well, IMO. Manuel is probably a 2nd round guy and Logan Thomas is a wildcard. He'll look good at the combine and someone might bite, but I don't think he will be on everyone's big board.
I originally had aj but edited it to murray. I would like to see aj play a few more games first.
Way to many SEC QBs on those lists. I thought we didn't have QBs in the SEC?
If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
Product of 5 guys that were young being veterans now with experience. QB play was at a low in the SEC 2 years ago. Last year a lot of young guys gained some experience and now there are a lot of good QBs in the league.
I know. I was just poking fun at all the guys who keep saying there are no good QBs in the SEC, none would start in Pac, etc.
I think most that are honest about it see that there are some top QBs in the SEC now. They have been correct though the last couple of years, though. The SEC has been down at that position....especially last season.
Logan Thomas needs another year at the college level to be considered on this list imo...
I would agree, but I think with the way he may look at the combine plus the fact that he hasn't actually been playing the position that long, it may be time to capitalize on that "potential" and not let another year go by. If he stays, I think NFL execs will expect more progress and there is no guarantee it happens. A lot of his hype has been on potential and measurables to this point.
I have to agree this years QB class isnt very good if Bray is the 5th best QB get him rattled and he sucks. Same with Murray BTW, and neither of them have had a good game against a good D. (that i can remember)
You can add Barkley to the list of rattle him and he sucks group and probly the D-fense group as well, not sure who plays D over there.

I think Logan (and VT) would greatly benefit from Logan staying for his senior year. For the first 5 games this year he just looked all wrong. It seemed like he was so focused on passing that he quit just throwing the ball. Last week he threw for 354 yard, and long TD's of 49 and 66 yards in which the receivers never broke stride and the ball landed perfectly over their shoulder in their arms. He had some pretty nice passes dropped, including a perfect pass on 4th and 10. That one hurt.
He wasn't perfect, and missed some throws, but he looked like he did at the end of last year, as opposed to the first 5 games this season. But yes, bring him back for his senior year.
JMO but Murray hasn't impressed much this year. And Brat has looked good at times but he seems to be hurt regularly- however when he plays he seems better than McCarron or Murray.
I think McCarron is underrated because he only has to make 2-3 NFL throws a game because of the system he plays in. But then again he's also thrown 0 picks just yet, as opposed to the others.
I'll evaluate the SEC QBs since I see them the most:
Once again, I thought Landry Jones was supposed to be a top-5 (as in QBs) talent?
I forgot about Jones. My updated list:
Thats a pretty weak QB class, wow.
Bray seems to be a couple spots too high as he gets rattled way to quickly. I like to think of him like a poor mans Jay Cutler.
I would argue that Murray is better than Manuel and Wilson is worse than Jones. I'd probably go:
1 Smith 2 Barkley 3 Thomas 4 Jones 5 Bray 6 Wilson 7 Glennon 8 Murray 9 Manuel 10 Nassib
Nice list overall.
I can see Murray over Manuel. I can't see Jones over Bray and Wilson. I think Bray will definitely be a first rounder and Wilson has a shot. Jones is a notch below.
I'm not looking at it as Jones is also a first round talent, but rather as Wilson and Bray are more like 2nd-3rd rounders along with Jones.
As gifted as Bray seems to be at times, I don't see him being anymore successful than a bottom tier starter/journey man in the NFL. As for Wilson I think his draft stock has plummeted. He may get it back up if he finishes the season strong, but I don;t see many signs pointing in that direction.
Lot of bad qb play going on in some big conferences. I am sure we will see some names from low conferences and fcs schools. There is always a name that pops up out of nowhere
