It may have been done already before my time on TBB but a West Coast vs East Coast argument thread as to who is superior & why would be pure gold IMNSHO.

Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard as it seems - Led Zeppelin
I've been here since the beginning and have never seen one.
I'll save that one for next Friday. 5* potential with a relentless motor IYAM.

1. The Meters - The Meters
2. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
3. Parliament - Mothership Connection
4. Funkadelic - One Nation Under a Groove
5. Herbie Hancock - Headhunters
That's pretty spot on but Super Fly by Curtis Mayfield has to be in there for me.
Me and A^2 are kindred hip hop spirits
1- Liquid Swords (luckily I saw GZA perform the album live last year)
3- The Infamous
4- Moment of Truth
5- Probably a tie between 36 chambers, Supreme Clientele and Midnight Marauders
Deserve got nothing to do with it...
Curtis by Curtis Mayfield is his best IMO.
ksredmill you should get one of our ghetto blaster badges since you are into the TBB music discussions
I like so many of them so much it's not an easy call.
Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road, Let it Be, and White Album are almost all tied
Same, Rubber Soul and Magical Mystery Tour are right there as well
I agree but they JUST missed the cut. I do like MMT better than Rubber Soul though.
i was at that show
What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome.--Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
everyone knows Rubber Soul is the beatles greatest album
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
Which is why I would go White Album.
Just to have more.
Tell me what to do & I'm there, brah.
That's the difficult part... you know I think Aussie might have put them on for us the first time around. Not sure if he still does that kind of thing or not, but try to PM him
Then with all due respect, and I mean it in the most respectful way possible... you. Music just doesn't get much better than Page singing "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" from that set. I was there in Birmingham this year when they closed the first set with While My Guitar Gently Weeps. It was honestly surreal. Awesome, awesome experience. I was in Atlanta the next night & the closed with A Day In The Life so two Beatles covers in consecutive shows was awesome.
This is painful trying to do a top 5 of all time.... but here it is.
Beatles - Abbey Road
Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
Elliott Smith - Either/Or
great stuff. i really like phish's "head held high" from that halloween show. i've got young kids (3 & 6) so haven't been to a show in a long time
Every song on the set is gold. Sweet Jane & New Age are my other favorites. I Found A Reason is such a beautiful song, too (no homo). I'm only 24 so unfortunately I never got to see any shows during the golden years.
Top few that just missed the cut.
Mogwai - Mr. Beast
Elliott Smith - Elliott Smith
All the other Beatles albums
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
T. Rex - Electric Warrior
Pink Floyd - Animals
George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Devendra Banhart - Cripple Crow
Nirvana - Bleach
I almost took this advice, but it couldn't edge out Abbey Road for me
Side two of AR is perfection.
But I'm gonna guess Revolution #9 came into play in that decision making process
