I think LSU definitely has strengths returning. I know I don't have them in my top 10 at the moment, but that may also be from a bad taste I have in my mouth from their game against Clemson.
I just find it hard to rank a team that high that one can count on coaching screwing them out of a game at some point in the season. Miles will keep having 10 win seasons as long as he stays there and they are willing to keep him, but until he turns the offense over to someone capable of making decisions based on their strengths, there will always be that game or 2 every year that they lose because of awful playcalling when they shouldn't.
I fixed the OL in my edit. I forgot about the awarding of the 5th year at the end.
3. South Carolina
4. Ohio St.
5. Texas A & M
If he wasn't the OC, I would agree. However, the HC/OC is the only reason they are who they are.
Losing Cave will definitely hurt, Golic not so much.
Scored 4 touchdowns...in a single game. Polk High!
For everyone so high on Stanford, why do you feel that way. For one, their showing against an average at best Wisconsin team makes me wonder.
Also, they lose 80% of their carries from the RB position, 88% of their receiving yards, 6 of their top 9 tacklers, 6 of their top 7 tacklers behind the LOS, and 8 of their top 9 sack guys.
For a team that relied on their running game, TE's, and front 7, they are just about all gone completely.
I like them a lot and think the program is in great shape, but I think next year could be a bit of a growing year for them as well.
I agree. The depth behind Golic has a chance to be much better. He was just an experienced guy that wasn't going to make mental mistakes and with the talent around him, he would be exposed that often.
Plus, I am sure the name Golic is a tough one to sit on the bench if there is any question at all that he could play.
True, can't really account for Les and his moronic coaching.
Honestly, you could throw Bama, UF, LSU, Stanford, Oregon (with Chip), and OSU in a hat. All of those teams, with ND potentially, could be top 5 caliber.
I think Stanford is heading in the right direction, but look at all they lose this year. Just about thier entire porduction on offense and almost their entire front 7, including 10 off the 2 deep in that category.
This was the perfect storm for them and I think they warrant a ranking at the bottom of the top 10, but they could be a team that falls off for a year as well. Definitely don't see them as a BCS title contender at all.
bama is the 5th youngest team in the bcs...reloading and winning titles while doing it.
in no order.
tosu (in honor of my boy devee)
sec east champ leaning flawda.
oregon will have a new coach...usc will suck...again. fsu should be there, klempson as well
5. Standford (I'd say Cardinals but I feel like 98% of tBB would have no idea who I was talking about)
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
Stanford will retain some beef, and their QB looks legit but I'd fall over dead if they come out of the gate smoking next season. Who knows where they will be ranked to start, but their only hope of being in the top 5 come October is the craptastic Pac-12.
It's literally he first 4 schools that pop into your head plus FSU. Every year.
Yeah, I'm 19.
St Louis or Arizona?
It weirds me out when they say it but you're correct.
Also Stanford is losing their OC this year. Don't think they will be top 5
I was really just doing some obnoxious SEC circle jerk trolling. Louisville is looking pretty good though
Go ahead and scratch UF off the list
This tome next year yet won't be top 25 IMO
Lose way too much
