what do you recommend? i'm gonna branch out a bit.
maybe i should have said "wheat" beer
Bavarians do a lot of unfiltered wheats, kind of their specialty. The rest of Germany is pilsners.
I like them, but would rather have a pils, lager, or ale. If you get a good one, do it right. Pour into a good glass, shake up the last ounce or two, and put a good head on it.
I just pissed you want some in a bottle? Its unfiltered
Start with something simple: Boulevard Wheat

My subject!! YES!!
Hands down.... Schneider & Sons Edelweiss. Dude, it's stupifying!! I ate it with Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast and was beyond scrumptious.
It's organic and the best in the biz.. like another poster said, leave enough so you can lay the bottle flat on it's side and not have any spill out and roll it on the table. Pour a nice head and you'll get the culture in the glass! Super yummy!!
I love boulevard!
Boulevard and Hacker-Pschorr are the first two that come to mind

Where do you live, most beers you will be looking at are regional.
We live in bama
Get on seekabrew.com
It will tell you all of the breweries distributed to your state.
You are officially annoying-beer-guy-who-consistently-recommends-brands-that-hardly-anyone-can-get-access-to.
Congratulations. I'm shocked you didnt recommend a Westvleteren

Come in the beer thread. There are a lot of us.

I'm not a huge wheat beer fan but UFO Hefeweizen with a lemon in it is solid stuff.

I didnt see many of anything y'all said at the store
Do you mind telling what city you are in? (Or near). I have been working all over Alabama for the past year, and can point you in the right direction if possible.
i live in the auburn-opelika area
Haha, ya got me there. Had you said Any other metro Alabama area, I couldve helped...probably
Simple, easy to find wheats
-Shock Top Wheat
Little more expensive and harder to find
-Duvel (wouldnt try this one right off the bat)
-Blithering Idiot Weyerbacher
-Victory makes a Witbier that is pretty common. Its Belgian style, and is in a light blue box IIRC.
That should get you started. No sense jumping into ridiculousness if you arent sure you will like it.
it's cool thanks for the help. i really llike blue moon and shock top. i dont have a problem finding those. hoegaarden was meh to me iirc. ill try it a again. i'll keep an eye out for the others.
You can get UFO at Publix, Target etc.
aight ill give it a try. i know i've seen that before. just wasnt at the local winn dixi lol. i'll check the publix
Our Winn-Dixie actually has a pretty decent selection. It's not as good as Publix though, obviously.
Some grocery store selections will impress you. There is a Food World in Fairhope Alabama that has a whole isle of craft stuff. Unreal.
Good call on the UFO...IIRC they have a white beer that is pretty good as well.
Its funny. Most I know who love Hoegarden hate Blue Moon and Bice versa.
If you can find that Duvel, grab some...just dont chug it, haha. Plus, your bulldog will like it too.
