Heard this being discussed on SVP show. If you are a NFL GM would you use a top draft pick for him?
hes too skinny. id be afraid he breaks in half if someone hits him. definate 3rd rounder though
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Not a top pick, probably wouldn't be much more than a KR guy
Without self-knowledge there is no individuality
Would give him a look in practice with no money upfront. He was running about 5th after 40yards in the race. Need to have explosive speed more than a high top gear imo. Durability, change of direction and hands are also in question. Not to mention the mental side of the game.
No, but I am sure Al Davis would have traded every pick he had that year to get the first pick if was in the draft.
I think Usain Bolt could make a hell of a winger though if he had good dribbling and crossing skills. (soccer)
Usain Bolt would break his legs
Blake looks like he could do some damage.
Ahh.. still interesting to me though. Who could cover him in a post route?
No corner could turn and run with Bolt so you could just have him run a go route every time and opponents would have to double cover him constantly, that's value without really having to do anything.
Hey Trojans, LSU's 74 are better than your 75.
that is what I was saying too and 6'5". If he can catch a cold he would be a force that has to be dealt with.
Justin Gatlin tried out for a team I believe and didn't make it. Bolt wants to play soccer anyway, he wants a trial with Manchester United.
We are talking about what we want, what he wants is irrelevant
No thanks to Bolt. He's fast, obviously, but can he catch a football and take a hit or two? Probably not.

Could be an elite CB, IMO.
I hate these threads. Just a ridiculous, ridiculous premise. Same shit happened during the last Olympics.
Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken
Thing is he has never played football... In my opinion his natural abilty could translate to football but its just not something he put work into... 6'5 4.1 guy is just an animal... and people saying he would break aren't considering the fact that his muscle density is probaby off the charts and that increases your bone mineral density making it less likely to have bone and muscle injuries... but not his sport so its like no point in arguing it unless he decides to learn the game... in Jamaica you rarely hear a person even talking about American football...
Walking up these hills you have no choice but to be fast!
No way in hell Bolt could play in the NFL
He would get bitched by NFL corners in bump and run
Straight line speed means very little in the NFL and it amazes me that fans and NFL GM's think it means so much
I guess most of you are too young to remember how well it worked out for Renaldo Nehemia and the 49ers?
Yeah but the thing a lot of people forget is if a track guy decided to work his entire life to play football with their god given ability how good would they be? Not really saying you are wrong just saying Bolt's talent and size would be perfect for the NFL if he had focused on it...
I agree. The 40 is a little more important than a 100 meter time just because it shows accelleration rate a little more. When I see 40's I still would rather compare the times on the first 10 before the entire 40.
Plus, even with Bolt's style of running, I am not sure is 40 time would be that amazing compared to some of the other speed guys in the NFL as he isn't a great starter. The difference is that when other guys are at top speed at 50 and 60 meters, he is still accellerating. His time from the 50 meter mark to the finish is what is absolutely ridiculous about the guy, IMO.
not true...Bolt blows the field away.. its been measured that he does coninue to accellerate but consider his first WR time... he shut down at the 80...
He was a cricket player at William Knibbs, so I assume he can catch. Catching a Cricket ball that is going over 100 MPH with you bare hands is no joke
It was actually the cricket Coach that suggested he turn to sprinting, when he saw how fast he ran as a Pace Bowler.
Same exact thing with Yohan Blake at St Jago. Jago's principal was watching his run up and told him he needed to switch to the Sprints
I met a little kid last month in Jamaica, He was practicing his starts on the beach who looks like he is going to be a Bolt clone. He just looks like you would imagine Usain looked like at 12 years old, He was all set to go to a rural HS on the North Coast when he won the All Island 100 Meters for his age group, and now he is going to Kingston College to run for them, all expenses paid.. (High Schools in Jamaica are sometimes called Colleges)
The talent on that little Island is sick, right now. The big difference is they don't have to go to America after HS to get top flight training.
I told the kid, his name is Prince, that he needs to keep up his grades and follow in Donald Quarrie and Lennox Miller's footsteps and go to USC to run track.
Gave him a couple of USC Tee Shirts. Was that a violation?
Yohann Blake looks like he could be a stud running back
