Then you have never played Half Life or Bioshock. Both of those were amazing stories that were lengthy.
I realize the campaign was way too short, but I think it's better than some of y'all are giving it credit for. The storytelling done even in the abbreviated timeframe was really fantastic I thought. Especially what is going on with the Chief and Cortana (again, I won't spoil anything). The set pieces were pretty impressive and the immersion factor was great, from the inside-the-helmet PoV to all of the "interactive cut scene" elements (I don't know what the official term for those are). And let's not forget to mention that the in-game cutscenes and ESPECIALLY the CGI cutscenes were phenomenal looking.
I'm not saying we should overlook the fact the campaign was too short, but there are games out there that are longer that don't come close to the overall quality that Halo 4 put out. It was a short but very sweet ride IMO.
Okay then I agree with what you are saying.
When I talk shooters, I mean multiplayer oriented games. BF, COD, Halo, etc.
There is a difference with Metal Gear, Bio Shock, UC, and those games. They are known for their single player.
I haven't played it so I can't really comment. I might pick it up for the story someday when the game is cheaper.
Didn't like Portal. Not a big puzzle game kind of guy. I don't like to think to much when playing video games. A puzzle every now and then is ok like in the GOW series, but not the whole game.
Far cry 3 looked great. If the reviews are good I may have to give it a shot.
Borderlands 2 is goty imo.
No need to play the first. The stories are not tied together.
Is that Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory playing guitar in your avatar?
I know. I'm just messing with you. That's what it looks like to me without clicking on it.
What's up with the lack of good games coming out right now? Isn't this the peak season for releases?
Damn I need a beer.
There have been some really good games this fall. Borderlands 2, AC3, Dishonored, and Forza Horizon are the ones I have picked up so far.
But a lot of games have started pushing back into the early part of next year to avoid juggernauts like Halo, CoD, and AC. Hard to sell games against titles like that.
I haven't played the other AC games so I'm out on that one. Is Dishonored good?
It was meh for me. I'm not huge on stealth games though. Most I know that are into those games loved it.
All-stars Battle Royale!
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
I still haven't finished it but I really like what I have played so far.
I mean, it's worth playing in it's own right I'd say. I haven't played it in forever so I don't know how well it's aged, but it was a keeper IMO.
Personally was not a fan.
I can see how a game like dishonored can have a following though, just wasn't for me.
I still have it on PC. It has not aged that well. It was released in 2005.
Far Cry 2 still hold up really well and still remains one of my favorite games of this generation. I loved the African setting.
Far Cry 2 was definitely awesome. It set a precedent for open world shooters on console.
Who here is getting BO2? I feel dirty, but that doesn't mean I want yo play alone. On PS3.
You make me sick. Sick I tell you.
To be fair, can you name a better arcade style shooter?
It came down to two things.
1. Wanting an arcade shooter for change of pace. And MOH is a failure of epic proportions.
2. Knowing me purchasing or not changes nothing since it will sell millions ans millions in the first week.
I still feel dirty though.
