Not necessarily unfair, but time consuming in order to get the game mechanics and rhythm down. I don't have a ton of time that I can allocate towards a video game. The time I get to spend I want to spend it seeing new things and progressing, not playing the same level over and over. That's just me though.
Love me some trials. The extreme difficulty is sooo frustrating but rewarding.
Ah man can't wait to see it. Do you think it will be running on PS4 or 720?
More than likely. I can't imagine they wouldn't put it on the new consoles.
No way it's not.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
If this is true then Microsoft is more idiotic than I could have possibly imagined.
If your internet drops for three minutes, the next Xbox interrupts your game, sources say.
One would hope they aren't that stupid.
I've got something to say! It's better to burn out than fade away!
I keep thinking there is no way but more and more rumors keep surfacing. Most of the PS4 rumors were spot on. Hopefully these are not.
When are they even gonna announce this Xbox E3?
I'm leaning towards ps4 right now I'm just waiting for that email so I can reserve it.
I don't want an always-online console, but one of the articles I read (I think it was on Kotaku) did bring up a good point: Our cable boxes are basically, more or less, an always online piece of equipment and they're pretty damn stable (at least my U-Verse box is). How on earth have consoles or PC related anythings being "always online" failed so hard?
They have an event set up for sometime this month I believe.
My cable box does not require an internet connection.
I really don't know what to make of this Far Cry 3 expansion.

Not in the sense of "connecting to the Internet," but it does have to always be "connected" in order to work. On principle it's really not that much different.
It is very different IMO. Internet is still very unstable.
Not to mention they alienate a lot of people that don't have internet. It is just beyond stupid. I am not getting either console if it requires a constant internet connection.
When I moved I didn't have internet or cable for a week. The only thing I had for entertainment was my console. Would have been terrible if I couldn't have used that either.
I never said I wanted an always-connected console, I'm just amazed the infrastructure is still so bad revolving around it.
Oh no doubt. I agree with you there. Hoping Google Fiber takes off soon.
I still don't even see the need for an always-connected console.
If they could make it so my console could automatically search for (and install) updates/patches without me being there (or the console even being "on") I'd give them a few minutes of my time. As it stands, nope.
Playstation already does that. You just set what time you want it to turn on and search and it downloads all patches and updates. It turns on and downloads the patch and then shuts off.
By the way, did anyone else know about Adam Sessler bouncing back and starting (I think he started it) Rev3Gaming on YouTube? It's cool to see him doing his thing again. Miss the old XPlay days.
I am starting to believe the rumors myself. The only reason I would not believe it is because I didn't think Microsoft would be that stupid. It seems they are coming into this generation too cocky similar to how Sony did with the PS3. If true the PS4 will be my primary system that I play all my games on and I will probably buy a Xbox when the price drops just to play Halo and Gears of War. It looks like I will reverse what I did with this current generation on how I use both of my consoles.
I have a lot of friends who can only get dial up still within 30 minutes from where I live. It is sad there is not high speed internet everywhere in the U.S. by now.
Most cable boxes receive their information straight through the cable line, but ones like TIVO which require an actual internet connection can go for a significant amount of time without being connected. TIVO typically has the guide downloaded 7-10 days into the future, so it could take you upto a week or more to even notice it's disconnected.
Govt is trying to push companies to better our infrastructure -- it's definitely needed given the growing dependency on the interwebs.
