Ill take a pic at what it's doing
I got it
I don't know. I have never had to sign into anything like that. Only EA game I play is Battlefield though.
Anyone get Defiance?
I got it last night for PC. Let it install and stuff over night. At work now so I can't play it just yet.
I had to fill in some code
I have heard mixed reviews.
Rumor is next assassins creed and other games will require a Internet connection. Looks like always online Xbox may not matter if all the developers are requiring it for the games anyways. I really hope this is not true.
Are there any statistics that show what the effects of piracy and used games are on the developers (not the publishers)?
Ubisoft has already tried that with several PC titles with disastrous results. So that doesn't surprise me.
I wanna know why I have no friends on ps3 yet?
You can add me my name is nirvanabama on psn and xbla.
Next generation may suck. It seems the gaming industry is just getting more and more greedy.
What scares me the most with all these developers and publishers shutting down you may buy a game and next month not be able to play it if they shut down the server or if the company goes under. This is ridiculous requiring a online connection to play a single player game makes no sense. As of now Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs is rumored to require a internet connection to play. As much as I am looking forward to these games a big part of me hope they really flop hard.
First add is a bammer what is the world coming to
I haven't even been on my PS3 today. Name is aussiebrew33 if you want to add me.
That is an interesting point.
Say I want to go back and play a game that is a few years old but I can't because they don't support it anymore. This is possible the dumbest thing ever.
The only thing we can do is not support games that do this or even the console itself if it comes to that. I still have my PC thank god.
Greedy? They have been pirated to the point of extinction. Many Many studios have shut down. The big Companies like MS and Sony lose billions to barely turn a profit by the end of the gen putting consoles for sale at a loss. Gamers are lazy and have been ripping of the companies that make them games for years. Its time people start paying for what they want to play(and not used)
It is true. Gamers love games, especially quality games, but they also love to pirate, rent, and buy used. I mean, when was the last time you heard about someone renting a game, loving it (even beating it), and then going out to Best Buy to purchase the game full price because, "Man, I got $60 worth of entertainment from this. The devs earned it."?
I agree with this. I refuse to pirate a game for this reason.
Still wish there was some other way to go about this but we might be to that point. I just foresee a lot of problems coming from all this that will probably backfire and still cost these companies loads of money.
My PSN is the same username I have here.

Ill add y'all when I get back home
The biggest problem for always online games for me is that I'm in college and too poor to afford a decent enough connection to play games and have my roommates still be able to use the internet for whatever they want to do as well. Its just too much of a pain in the ass for me to play games online most of the time so I usually leave my ps3 signed out. Also, it's much easier to buy a new system for me because I work full time in the summer and actually have money then, but during the school year its not as easy to come up with the money to pay for faster internet every month.

It's not that you have to play ONLINE, it's just you have to be connected to the internet to play it. Game could still be played without the use of internet connection. Just need to be connected for DRM reasons.
I know that, but wouldn't my system still be using up some connection in order to run the game anyways?
