Yet we're supposed to take the opinion of this dude seriously.
No it's not. My father-in-law (now deceased) was an assistant and an Off Co. in the League. I still keep in touch with some of his colleagues. EVERY ONE of them that I have spoken to have said that, barring injury or a "mental collapse", CK will be a first round pick. Now they could be wrong but all four of the gentlemen I spoke with said he is a first round pick.
I told so many bama fans this after the 2011 season that warmack was our best lineman and got downvoted to oblivion lol. I was right though and Cyrus is elite.
Please don't use Kiper to defend a prospect.
100% objective. When I watch prospects I could care less what team they play for...
If CK is a top 10 pick next year it will be because he has improved immensely, but based on last year's tape he is not a top 10 pick right now.
I get people that argue he is an elite college football player, but an elite NFL prospect is what I disagree with.
Elite is a top 10 pick, middle to late first round is not elite when talking about NFL prospects...
Lol whatever. Matthews didn't constantly face the other team best pass rusher. Matthews draft status will take a hit by moving to left tackle. Lewan and Richardson are better than Cyrus, Matthews is not
Matthews is an elite prospect right now, CK isn't an elite prospect right now... I highly doubt you could find one NFL scout who has CK ranked above Matthews right now.
I guess we will see who is right next April. He will be top ten
Actually it won't take a hit, it will improve, because he will show he can handle playing both sides...
Another interesting thing of note, Both Joeckel and E Fisher are slated to be RT's this upcoming season in the league, and they both went top 5. Not sure where Lane Johnson is slated to start, though I didn't think L Johnson should be a top 5 guy. Gets caught lunging in space way too often, and gets knocked off of his set too easily by a pure bull rush.
Matthews has an elite kick set, outstanding balance, and his ability to re-anchor quickly is exceptional.
Edit: Matthews is better than Lewan as well, not sure how I missed that.

I hope he proves me wrong, I love Olineman that warrant a top 10 selection, but like I said based upon what I've seen he doesn't look like a top 10 pick right now...
Lane Johnson will start on the right side for Philly this year as well.
Cyrus and Matthews will both be first round picks selected a few picks apart. It's not a subject that warrants a silly fan bragging rights argument IMO.
I got a question for you guys, though not entirely on topic. Who right now in your eyes is the top LB is it Kyle Van Noy, CJ Mosley, Ryan Shazier, or Anthony Barr. I realize they all kind of play different positions, offer different skill sets, but I was curious how you guys would rank them?
Good question -- I'm curious as to how many people are going to pretend they studiously watch film of BYU and UCLA games to scout linebackers.
Now this is a post I have respect for. Well done my friend. I agree Matthews is better at the moment but still think Cyrus will go higher. If Matthews perform on the left side like he will rise.
I would actually rank them in the order u have them listed. Although I think Barr has the highest ceiling of them all.
They both have 1st round ability, just funner to debate about guys who you think are top 10 vs 1st rounders than 1st rounders vs a 7th rounder in my opinion. The latter is much more obvious, and doesn't leave much up for debate.
RIght on the money with Barr. I see some have him as the top guy right now, but it is all based upon potential right now. Last year Barr offered a good get off, but zero counter moves and he really works a long looping path to the QB instead of getting underneath the OT's outside shoulder. It worked for him because of his athleticism at this level, but he needs to do more, and still is very raw with technique. Highest ceiling I would agree with as well.
I honestly haven't watched enough of Mosley or Noy right now to differentiate between the two right now, but I love them both, and they should duke it out for the top LB in the country next year. Very fun players to watch, and both capable of doing many different things as complete 3 down LB's.
Dude he's like the #4-5 OT maybe.
If I'm ranking them honestly jacket, I would go Matthews, Lewan, Cyrus, Richardson. Cyrus will surpass Lewan by season end though. Matthews is great at pass and run blocking. Lewan is good but I watched him get destroyed the entire game vs alabama and Ohio state. He held his own against clowney but he had help majority of the game
Right now I would agree with those rankings as well. I could definitely see CK passing Lewan, they both have question marks/need to provide better more consistent game tape. Matthews question is how will he handle the left side in an entire season, but he looked outstanding in the spring game(I know just the spring game, but he still looked natural).
I will say this about CK, so far out of the OT prospects I have watched it seems like he has the biggest window of opportunity to move up the board. I haven't really studied Tiny Richardson that closely yet though either.
Did you really just post this?
Pump the breaks my man.
I must have blocked those plays out against Alabama
all i know is we went all year and we didnt hear anything bout our left tackle getting beat for a sack or anything. a good left tackle to me is one that plays and dont hear anything from
Have you ever ranked prospects, or do you understand how the NFL grading system works? Their were a lot of things I said in this thread that you could argue me on, but you probably picked the worst one from your side of things.
I 100% posted that, and the NFL grading system backs my words. Elite is a top 10 pick, 1st round grade is not the same grade as a top 10 grade.
If I should've pumped the brakes in this thread it was when I went over the top and said CK is barely a 1st round pick, that was a stupid statement by myself. He is a first round prospect, everything else I have said I stand by.
