I wasn't alive to see either of the two play but I watched both 30 for 30s and it seems like Herschel Walker was better. For those who were alive - which one do you think was better?
Just College? Or add in pro sports?
Herschel, if you count pro's BO.

Pretty equal, IMO. The difference was Dooley rode Hershel for all he was worth and along with way too many carries in the USFL, he didn't have enough left to be quite the back he could have been once he got to the NFL.
That type of career is why you see so many 2 back backfields these days, IMO.
Couldn't go wrong with either in college though.
Herschel Walker was the best college back In history. 4.3 speed and could lift a house.
Bama fans still sour Bo turned down Bryant
"If this was a prize fight they'd call it off"- F ND!
Bo only played 4 years of pro ball and didn't even have 2800 yards rushing total and only 18 total TDs.
Mark Ingram of all people is on pace to break Bo's 4 year marks in a landslide.
10 Major Poll National Titles (CFB record)
35 Bowl Wins (CFB record)
72 Wins over last 6 years (CFB record)
Bo ran a 4.12 at the combine.
On another note, whatever it is you're smoking, would you mind sharing? TIA
Why So Serious?
B/c he played MLB, only player who was an all-star in two sports.

what does baseball have to do with comparing 2 football players?
Going by Stats is dumb, Emmitt has the most rushing yards in NFL history but no 1 thinks he's the best back of all-time b/c he had the best O-line in football history.
It doesn't allow you to achieve your maximum potential as a football player b/c you have to train for baseball and play baseball.
would have been a hell of a linebacker and started linebacker U a couple decades earlier
doesnt change how good he was(nt)
dude, who cares.
Walker, at the time of his retirement, ranked 2nd all time in total yardage in NFL history (not counting his 3 years in the USFL).
Herschel was the better back, but stats don't tell the real story.
UGA ran the I formation with Herschel. Buck Belue never ran the ball...
AU ran the wishbone for 3 years. Bo split carries with 3 other backs and a QB every year.
If you are training and playing professional baseball it makes a huge difference on achieving your maximum potential as a football player. He only made the Pro Bowl twice in his NFL Career.
The other side of that is Herschel carried the team for Georgia back then. Went through that much beating weak in and weak out and still put up those numbers. It was no mystery who was getting the ball for Georgia back then, and he still performed.
Herschel Walker, look at his pro stats I'd bet you'd be surprised by them. Look at Herschel now, he's still a stud.
The drug's Herschel did kept him from being his maximum potential.
Lot of what if's but if we are comparing the two at RB, it's Herschel. As an athlete? probably BO.
The question is who do you think is better, not who had more yards or a better career based on numbers. If I had to win a game I would take Bo as my RB in the NFL, Herschel only made the pro bowl twice; that means he was only one of the best RB's twice in his 10 year career. Compare that to JIm Brown who made the Pro-bowl every year he played in the NFL and that's why he is considered the best RB of all-time.
