Quoting Psalm 14:2-3 isn't an answer to any of my questions.
You're sharp enough to pick on that
I'm sharp enough to pick up that you're intending to ask legitimate questions
Those are legitimate questions - I'm just asking for a legitimate response. Just take the last question: wouldn't a truly loving God try to start all of his creation off in as good a position as possible?
You've come here to bushwhack through the lowest common denominator
Do you not think your "questions" could be answered in a more suitable forum?
Of course you do but getting answers to those questions isn't really the objective here
How is that not a legitimate question? I ask questions like that all the time here, and I never seem to get a response. If I believe in something, I'm willing to discuss it and defend my position (or modify my position if someone enlightens me somehow).
It's not like I'm asking offensive questions - I'm asking legitimate questions that philosophers and theologists have struggled with for hundreds of years, because I want new responses from people that I haven't encountered before.
I have a question, for those more scholarly on the Bible than I: Other than in Leviticus (I believe that's where it's located), where else in the Bible (namely the New Testament) is homosexuality condemned or even mentioned?
And 24/7 sports is your chosen proving ground?
Let us recap entries in this very thread
wps88 simply stats.....turd
a real dandy from Lesticals (two deer humping)
RSemmes chims in.....Jews don't take the stories of the Old Testament literally. Just nutty Christians do.
our familiar friend wps88 comes back with more thought provoking material.......and that's why all Jews are rich
As I said earlier, if you were truly after information you wouldn't be digging through the trash
But does it really matter if a priest tickled pickle? I thought Catholics were hell bound regardless for following a false gospel? Along with Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc.
Or are you more on board with Rebel_30's (reformed?) beliefs?
I'm on 247 already to talk about football, why wouldn't I just stay here to discuss whatever else too? That's the whole point of an OT board, after all. If I went to any other website I'd get a different breakdown of people answering my questions, and I specifically want to hear from those on 247. I feel no desire to go to some place like reddit and get the same answers parroted back at me 100 times - I already know what the hivemind there is like, just like I know what type of answers I'd get on a religion-specific forum.
ITT (kind of) back one page
at the risk of blowing your mind I'm gonna make a suggestion
seek answers away from the internets
I do. I discuss things with my friends, I discuss things with random people in bars, I talk with pastors that I know - I generally seek knowledge.
The whole point, that you seem to be failing to grasp, is that I have yet to receive satisfactory answers to many of my questions. As a result, I'll ask them wherever I think I might get new responses - and given that this is the first time that I can remember that I've ever talked to you (and some of the other people in this thread) it's reasonable to assume that I'd get a new answer (at least new in the sense of never having heard your response before).
Shockingly enough, I'm not so jaded that I don't think there are people on tBB who have valuable things to say. I'm just attempting to find them, and one of the best ways is to ask tough questions and see who has the fortitude to step up, and who can actually articulate good responses.
Yep, your going to hell
I'm not your friend, bruh

Maybe your meaning of "satisfactory" needs to be tweaked? I'm not sure. You're pretty much gonna get the same answers. If those aren't good enough for you then maybe you need to take a look inside yourself and see why the answers aren't satisfactory.
The Future Is Bright! Hotty Toddy
Its called free will. God gave it to us to use. Not to be told over and over again some line from a book that not many people can verify that any of the stories are true or even really happend.
Instead of fighting back with cute quotes from teh bible. Why dont you actually share some personal stories that led you to where you are. Dont just try and answer all with random quotes that you dont even understand.
It pains me that so many of the so caled religious on here havent ever read the entire book. Its a book...read it. Dont pick and choose what you want to use against another man to make your point.
And to your point of looking inside...Look inside the bible and tell us all where it says you are free to judge everyone else by some made up biblical standard thats not even in the Bible
If you cant be honest....whats the point of being anything?
Let's be honest though. You'll rarely give an answer that isn't amorphous or vague. Especially to someone like CMXI. And that's by design. Every difficult question you'll either dance around or answer with nebulous scripture.
You won't fully open the kimono until someone has first bought into, or is open to the concept of being 'saved'. Because the "hard truths" of what you believe would scare or anger most 'non-believers'. And - I don't mean this cynically - evangelizing is essentially sales, no?
Go a few pages back and check out Cock Holladay's rant. Evangelical. Maybe Baptist. Homeless people, the mentally ill, are going to hell for not taking Jesus into their heart and spreading the word. God is wrathful and vengeful. Is this what you believe or are your beliefs a little more liberal?
This is why it is hard to have a decent conversation about anything like this. They wont ever be specific. They just toss out meaningless scripture when taken so out of context.
These idiots could learn something fom pstrjohn from teh AUC boards. He has reality in his message. Not just blind ignorance of the entire bible.
They only say what propels their argument. Not the entire thing.
I'd love if pstrjohn was in here. Regardles of how open he'd be, at least I could trust he'd know what the eff he's talking about.
Just want to wish everyone on tBB a better Good Friday than jesus had.
1 Corinthians 6:9 1 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
1 Timothy 1:10 - the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine
I should mention that I am not sure that anyone has ever been "armwrestled" into heaven. Someone who does not want to believe in the scripture will only have their arguments fine-tuned with discussions like this. That is why I am 100% convinced for someone to be saved it is a heart change. The scripture will make sense and they will believe. I only mention the above scriptures just to respond to your question and not to beat anyone over the head with Bible verses.
