So families who do not want there kids exposed to the evolution theory, what should they do?
Wake the F*** up and realize it's real.
BornToBeRed said: WPS, just a head's up. We might be the most family-friendly board on the network, so take it easy on your normal wps-ness.
So can anyone who doesn't believe that intelligent design is a 'science' or who hasn't been conscripted into the army of Satan (WPS and Rams) tell me if this series is worth watching? From an entertainment perspective.
Maybe to you it is real, to me it is a theory
Your post was: "Like removing prayer from schools or teaching evolution?"
My response was that prayer isn't removed from public schools. It's entirely relevant.
You're using the word 'theory' and I don't think you know what that word means.
I've been conscripted by your definition and I haven't missed one yet, it's certainly entertaining
Homeschool your kids.
Our schools have an obligation to teach truth. If truth conflicts with your moral view, you're welcome not to participate, but we aren't going to lie to people so that you can live in your own world view.
I flipped it over there the other night for about a minute and a half. My gf said, "What are you watching?" I replied, "The Bible." She laughed and asked, "Why are you watching that?" I said, "pstrjohn told me to." I then changed the channel.

Private school or home school
So lets say a group of 100 students wanted to gather in the lobby at school and pray at the main entrance. You think the school would be okay with that? I'd say probably not
Homeschooled kids are weird as hell. Just look at Tebow.

You mean teaching a theory. I dont have kids, but when/if I do, and they try to push some garbage on them...they will deal with me
Not I. I acknowledge that religion is an important crutch for the mentally weak. Aside from the fact that it is responsible for far more deaths than anything in history, as far as the day to day goes, living a lie is a necessity for many people.
Home school. Happens all the time in the southern evangelical families. Unfortunately that often takes them out of the decent college sweepstakes.
Depends on the specifics.
If it's in the main entrance where people are walking by, I doubt it. They would request that the 100 people find a different area (probably a gym or something) so that people aren't walking by, since that would interrupt the prayer group and make both sides uncomfortable.
Believe in me or I'll kill you bro
However wrong evolution could possibly turn out to be, it's still based in science which is why it's teachable. You need to send your kids to private school
Your choice, two options.....
Yes - that's exactly what I mean. Here's some definitions of the word 'theory'.
US National Academy of Sciences:
The formal scientific definition of theory is quite different from the everyday meaning of the word. It refers to a comprehensive explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence. Many scientific theories are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics)...One of the most useful properties of scientific theories is that they can be used to make predictions about natural events or phenomena that have not yet been observed.
From the American Association for the Advancement of Science:
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world. The theory of biological evolution is more than "just a theory." It is as factual an explanation of the universe as the atomic theory of matter or the germ theory of disease. Our understanding of gravity is still a work in progress. But the phenomenon of gravity, like evolution, is an accepted fact.
Yes, your kids will be taught all kinds of scientific theories in high school, like evolution, gravity, atomic theory, bacterial theory, etc.
If that conflicts with your worldview, you can homeschool them. Like I said, the US government is not going to lie and teach nonsense to children. They are going to teach truth. You don't have to show up if truth is incompatible with your worldview.
You stated you don't support petitioning the govt to support your beliefs, but you are ok with Athiest doing that to support their/beliefs. That was my point. It seems you constantly contradict yourself
I don't support the government using their power to influence religion. You haven't given me a single example of atheists/agnostics/humanists/secularists using government to mandate agnosticism or atheism. And as far as I can see, there aren't any.
Let me know when you see a petition to have 'There is no god' imprinted on our money.
Yeah man I know. One of the perks of being all-seeing. I watch you and your gf all the time.
ANYONE: I personally don't believe in any major religious belief. Through studying religion it's easy for me to see the creation of the "stories" that make up modern belief and how they evolved over the years to become FACT to some. I just want to know from someone here that understands this, is the show about "faith" or is it entertainment and good?
Do you watch me while I poop?
Because, you know, personal space man.
