I'm not some hardcore Atheist. I think there's gotta be some higher being... just not Christianity.
I agree with this:
Soft Atheism (also called Weak Atheism): The position that God or gods possibly could exist, since you can't prove a negative, but that the arguments, reasons and proofs that they do are unconvincing. Soft Atheists are people who are simply without a belief in God in the same way that most people are without a belief in Santa Claus or leprechauns and for much the same reasons - lack of convincing evidence and the higher likelihood these beings are imaginary constructs of human folklore.

Nice. Thanks. Maybe I'll check it out...
The technical term for this is an agnostic atheist - "I don't know whether or not god exists, but that doesn't mean I believe in any of them."
I do not know any gnostic atheists - "I KNOW god doesn't exist." Likewise, there are gnostic theists - "I KNOW god exists and I believe in him" and agnostic theists, "I don't know whether god exists, but I believe in him."
There is an actual term for that you know. . . Agnostic.
No. Agnosticism and atheism are actually not related, because they answer different questions.
He doesn't believe in god (hence he's an atheist), but doesn't know whether or not a god exists (hence he's an agnostic).
actually, agnostic is just a claim to knowledge, so you would probably classify him as an agnostic theist. Since he has a belief that there is some god out there.
Actually I think he said he does believe in a higher power, but not the christian god.
Ah then he would be a nondenominational agnostic theist.
Agnostic Atheism is pretty much Soft Atheism
Unfortunately. One of the many downsides of being all-seeing. I also see what you do with that Men's Fitness mag you have under your mattress.
Agnostic - a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god.
Soft Atheism (also called Weak Atheism): The position that God or gods possibly could exist, since you can't prove a negative, but that the arguments, reasons and proofs that they do are unconvincing.
I don't really see the difference between these definitions.
I don't believe any of it and I've watched every episode, even if 'Vikings' weren't on after it I'd still watch.
and lol at "Jesus" being white. If he were real he'd look more like a terrorist
There isn't one. "Soft atheism" is just a different was of saying "agnostic atheism".
No shit, the shroud of Turin face looks like me in HS when I'd grow my hair out for locks of love. I guess it's no surprise that people called me Jesus until college.
Cool. I'll check it out, thanks man
Wait until you tell republicans he walked around giving poor people free healthcare.
They cant help themselves. They feel like they have to try and convince us of their theory. Point is....neither side is convincing any of us to change our mind.
Would be better if they just started their own thread saying we don't believe in Jesus and keep that talk in that thread
I'm never talking to you again.
Theory about the existence of God/Jesus or evolution? Huge difference.
Just to be appropriate anal, what you mean to say was:
Theory of evolution or debate on the existence of god
