'Cause I like watching tBB debate politics :
Infographics on the distribution of wealth in America, highlighting both the inequality and the difference between our perception of inequality and the actual numbers. The reality is often not what we think it is.
What're your thoughts?
Pretty much. What do we even talk about? Its existence can't really be debated.
We are on tBB, don't forget.
Good post. Most people have no clue what socialism and communism even are and have negative connotations because the iterations of it have failed. Mostly bc they were designed and overseen by fools like the Russians. I'm not suggesting those ideals as policies but we need to press through all the ridiculous misconceptions.
The goal of civilization in its pure form is to create the largest middle class possible. Period. The upper class is generally that group of ultra productive citizens that should be highly rewarded and encouraged but not to the point where they get so much the middle class is inhibited.
True. Every time I've even hinted at the existence of wealth or income inequality in the US I've been attacked as a "communist" or someone who wants to "redistribute wealth."
My thing is this: I have no problem calling the governmental system corrupt; I actually agree. But I also think it's fairly apparent that capitalism and the business system we have now is just as corrupt, but some people won't acknowledge that. It's all bad up top IMO. Too much greed.

Yep. Private enterprises suffer from just as much, if not more, corruption than the American government. The two are also so incredibly intertwined that it taints both systems. The unwillingness to examine multiple angles and the eagerness to scapegoat anyone are what allow those corrupt high-ranking members of society to continue to do what they do.
Didn't watch, but most likely a bunch of b*tching about how the rich are increasing the gap between the poor.
Yeah, didnt watch it but I am sure she believes since Obama has used the words wealth redistribution that he's a socialist right out of Czarist Russia. The super productive should lead super awesome lives. 1-10 mill a year supplies that and more. Above that should be hammered and 1-10 million earners should pay 45% or so IMO.

This question is for anyone. So what do you wAnt. I can't think of a society in history or currently that didn't have a "rich" class. I get the whole people are pissed at companies, that make billions a year. Not that I agree but I can see an argument at least. But I don't at all get the whole if you make 250k a year you are rich and can afford to pay more. Call me conceited or whatever but I don't think 250k/ yr is rich. Not trying to start shit just asking
Y'all really should watch the video. It doesn't call for Socialism or anything like that.
6 minutes? Hell no.
Here it is. 10 million is the limit folks, anymore than 10 million and you WILL be punished! LOL.
I don't see what the complaining is about, so what some people have more money and some people have less?
What's the point?
Did you watch the video?
I must not have got it all to play. What's the 10 mil thing people are talking about
Its a quality of life issue. For all humans.
I did. Again what's the point? How to you propose we solve this?
Well, I would say step one is admitting we have a problem.
Sounds like a personal problem. Some people just have it better than others
And what becomes of this enormous piggy bank that you just created?
I think it should be redistributed to people who are either proven physically unable to work or otherwise work at least 20 hours a week. Minimum wage jobs. We just want to create a nation where most households make at least 20K a year for each adult or at least 10K a year per child present. We have to try and erase the charity side of it. People need to be forced to contribute.
LOL. Exactly. What I have learned from this thread is that rich people are rich, and the poor are poor...imagine that. Not sure how it effects my life, or why I should give a ****. I take its as I am supposed to get all jealous and want to knock those rich down a notch or two.

Without sounding like any side of the fence, do you really not care about other people? Especially those that need help?
You should give a **** because we're not savages. We're supposed to care about each other.
