The guy hauling the shark to the surface is a well known photographer and spear fisherman named DJ Struntz. He and his group were outside of Mississippi out in the Gulf free diving for Tuna when a 12 foot Tiger Shark came into their pattern. They have been in the water with sharks more than anyone out there so they know their habits. He said the shark rolled at him and his friend and he knew the fish was there to feed (on them) so he shot the shark. He fought the fish for 2 hours and had to finish it off with a knife to the skull. It was dead so he swam it back up as to not go to waste. He took a lot of flack for killing this fish but the guy knows what he is doing. He knows when a shark has bad intentions and if he says he had no choice then I am inclinded to believe him. DJ is a champ.
