Sarah sorry about the Herpes.
-Ron Paul pretty much said the same thing, if that's who you were quoting
Tax them? Could you imagine the corruption that would take place if the federal govt got involved with regulating the sale of drugs? Just a bad idea. Legalize them? I agree with mj. But to have the govt involved would just strenghten the black market, and probably raise prices for the end user.
Government is inherently corrupt but you are being a bit irrational here. If its legalized it can be sold in certain stores and for cheaper than street value even with a hearty tax on it. Folks will want cheaper drugs sold in reputable establishments so the government will get that tax money.
Exact same as alcohol. Yeah you can go black market but its more expensive and why? Few people seek out moonshine when the liquor store is right down the street.
Easy to pick out the pot smokers in this thread.

Why? Because they realize marijuana is a joke compared to alcohol, cigarettes, and sugar drinks? This country is so ass backwards and folks like you don't get it so you just call us "pot smokers".
He probably just calls "y'all" "pot smokers" because you smoke pot
No shit Sherlock? ^^ this guy...
Why So Serious?
Well, I don't. So there's the issue.
You said "us" in the post I quoted....there's the issue
I already established who "us" was in the previous sentence. You simply can't read. "Us" was established to be the group of people who see reality in this marijuana discussion.
Which stores will sell it? Who will decide which? I may be overstating my point, but I wouldn't call it irrational. The sitiuation would be kick- back heaven. Anyhow, I appreciate trading view points.
You can sell it in the package store along with boozecand tobacco. You tell folks yoy can consume but you can't be under the influence in public. You warn people of the dangers of each (just like we do with cigs and alcohol). Those who cant control will be in jail. Drug dealers and crimes associated with the shipment and sell of drugs will vanish. Will there still be crime? Yes. But I think there will be less of it.
Again, it would be handled like liquor. Not sure how it escapes you. Who determines who sells liquor? Where is it sold? Etc.

Perspective alert, Perspective alert!
I don't think anyone is arguing that drug abuse is a good thing. Drugs simply are not hard to get. Legalization does not equal endorsing their use. If drugs were all legal, some people would certainly ruin their lives with drug abuse, as they do now, but many of the costs associated with keeping drugs illegal, both in dollars and blood, would substantially decrease.

If that's your game, switch to Xanax. Drink all night, take a bar of xanny, sleep like a champion, and wake up hangover free. Works well after a night of doing blow as well. Really is a magic pill.

Except one is a plant and one is a narcotic.
He knows about xanys aka the mind eraser.
Technically it's a bezodiazepine not a narcotic.
Yeah, well I knew that but what I meant was just a chemical compound that is still average at best. In ten years they will be admitting our medication now sucked just like they try to win our trust by admitting everything 5-10 years ago was brutal.
