I'm gonna start off in baseball where the Mariners, in order to get Erik Bedard who had a mediocre career with them traded Adam Jones and 4 other prospects to get him..
PositivePete- Dasshatriggeman is a bama plant on this site. His dugie houser underling always up votes him.
There was a baseball player who got traded to the Mets in the '80s for "a player to be named later"....he was so awful they sent him back as the back half of the trade.
Can't remember the name though.

The Herschel Walker trade by the Cowboys to the Vikings (of course, it took good draft picks for it to happen).
The Vikings received:
Cowboys' 3rd round pick (1990)- Mike Jones
Chargers' 5th round pick (1990)- Reggie Thornton
Cowboys' 10th round pick (1990)- Pat Newman
Cowboys' 3rd round pick (1991)- Jake Reed
The Cowboys received:
Vikings' draft picks led to the drafting of Emmitt Smith, Alvin Harper, Darren Woodson, Dixon Edwards, and Russell Maryland
Here is a list ESPN did (from 2001 though).

Babe Ruth for cash.

J.D. Drew for Adam wainwright....
You can pretty much throw in any Braves trade for a good period of time. I'll never be able to let go of the Tex trade...
What the Braves acquired: Mark Teixeira & reliever Ron Mahay.
What the Braves gave up: Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, shortstop Elvis Andrus, and pitchers Matt Harrison, Neftali Feliz, and Beau Jones.

Unfortunately this is what the Braves do. They trade players they know will be very good in a couple years for a proven player.
The Saints traded their whole draft (picks in rounds 1-7) just for Ricky Williams in return. That is very one sided.
End of discussion really.
Oh yeah I'm fully conscious of it but it still amazes me every time we do it
Olden polynice for scottie pippen
Yeah he was in ATL from the trading deadline to the end of the year and a few months into the next season and that's it.
Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio.
A young Brock went on to a Hall of Fame career, retiring as the all-time steals leader, while Broglio only won 4 more games in his career.
What did the Orlando Magic get for Shaq?
At one point the trade Scott Kazmir to the Rays for victor Zambrano was one of the worst decisions ever
But Scott lost it after awhile
It actually wasn't that one-sided.
The Redskins drafted Champ Bailey (great CB), Lavar Arrington (solid for a while, but for where he was drafted....bust), and 2 other guys that you never saw play a down in the NFL I am sure.
It may not have ended being a great franchise making trade for New Orleans, but it did give them the player (Williams) that led them to their first ever playoff victory.
The worst part of it was that the Saints pretty much traded Williams for Charles Grant, who was a solid defensive player in their Super Bowl team, and Jonathan Sullivan, who spent as much time in the courthouse as he did the NFL.
So, even if you say the Saints and Redskins deal wasn't that bad, the Saints definitely lost out when they traded Williams to the Dolphins. He had 2 great seasons for them before the whole retirement mess....and actually has put together a couple of really solid seasons since coming back as well. On the field, good move by the Dolphins....but also a mess to deal with off the field.
That Celtics trade should be number 2 over John Elway's getting Two HOF's which enabled the dynasty is just ridic...
Whatever the marlins did over the offseason.
but randy moss for a 6th round pick or whatever when he went to the pats and tehn had something like 25 TDs the next season has got to be up there
this money was used to finance and musical play
I was going to put that trade there I was also considering the one where they traded him to the Angels and got back Casey Kotchman and some guy that didn't do anything but ride a minor league bench
Kobe for Vlade Divac on draft day was pretty hilarious.
And here's where my beloved 76ers take the cake.
Please review the following trades:
And just this year Andrew Bynum
Not guilty y'all got to feel me
