And you can't prove they did either.
Only hearsay from his family that he would have never done this.
I've had enough of the rare suicide in sports being blamed on concussions.
Some dudes just kill themselves.

Head trauma lawsuits will kill the game as we know it....this will happen much sooner than you think.
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
Blah Blah Blah
You make statements that you cant back up with facts
Not my problem
I never said his brain issues were the reason he killed himself
I simply said that there is a lot of reason to believe that it played at least a part
Just as it did with Dave Duerson
I notice in all our interaction, you have avoided his case
I totally understand why
You seem intractable, irascible and irritable
I simply took issue with your definitive statement that brain damage issues had nothing to do with Junior Seau's suicide
I have never declared it did
I simply said that taking everything into consideration, there is enough evidence to believe it played at least a part
You seem very invested in debunking this theory, despite the overwhelming agreement by the NFL, the players both present and past and the medical community that it is a problem that requires a cooperative and comprehensive effort to find a workable solution
You sound like the know nothings who still deny global warning
All from the comfort of your barcolounger
Tough guy to the max, eh?

Calm down brah.
I am Canadian, no one here denies Global Warming.
I'm not that tough, just sick of the scape goating.
Sick of football being ruined because "concussions cause suicides" without any definitive proof.
Why does Duersons case prove anything? Just because he thought concussions made him crazy doesn't make it true. Suicide happens, it happens at a greater rate in general population than in football. So it's unlikely concussions are a killer like you and other MSM make it seem.
Which is very stupid. Like I've said, all of these athletes know the consequences.
No one forced these dudes to play, they should live with the consequences of their own actions, just like every single other person on earth.
Also these guys get compensated quite handsomely for their jobs. Danger pay IMO.
Educate players, let them decide if they want to play or not. Let's not ruin football, because the players aren't the ones asking for changes, it seems like it's the MSM which is bullshit.
Suicide is a side issue
It is the severe brain damage and brain diseases that are the issue at the heart of this
Did you ever watch John Mackey at the end if his life?
Have you seen Ex Eagles Fullback Kevin Turner try to speak with ALS which NFL players are getting at a rate of 8 times the rate if the non foitball playing public?
You keep saying the players know the risks and are handsomely compensated
What about youth football players? High School Players? College Players?
And yes, they are aware of the risks now
But they werent 20 years ago, or even 10
Did you see the comments by Ravens Safety Bernard Pollarc when he said he is just waiting for someone to die on the field
I dont know what the answer is, but I sure as hell know there is a problem, and I am telling you that the current players are worried as hell
You know, the guys that actually have skin in the game
Sounds like a personal problem if you ask me. Pro athletes know the consequences. As far as high school and college players, their parents know the risks as well. If they don't agree with them, then do not let them play. Pretty simple concept.
I will put it this way. I don't feel guilty watching football ad Obama thinks I should feel. I like watching NASCAR ESP for the wrecks and fights. I like seeing people get knocked put on mma. You sissies can kiss my ass
My son's message to Obama, Clemson, and Georgia
The argument will be the NFL knew it and didn't tell them.
The recent rule changes for player safety was probably suggested by lawyers
If they have brain damage , this would be a workers comp issue that the players will win.
What a badass
I dont disagree, i was just countering the compensation argument.
If you read my first post on this thread, you will notice that I stuck to the original topic, which was in regards to President Obama joining the debate about player safety.
I tried to add context and made almost zero comment on the actual issue itself
But when I see a guy who with zero facts make a blanket ststement that he knows for a fact that Junior Seau's SEVERE brain injuries had nothing to do with his suicide, then yes, I guess it becomes a little personal given what I know about the concern people close to him had shown over his increasingly erratic behavior
And the guy still refuses to give an inch, which I find troubling
But I an not the one who brought suicide into the discussion, and my contention is that suicide is not even the real issue
The real problem is the brain diseases and conditions and I am glad that it is being taken seriously by all of the involved parties
The fact a bunch of pretend tough guys, who's only investment in the whole deal is the time they spend in front of their TV's gorging their fat asses on Pork Crackllns and swilling cheap beer is of little consequence to my overall outlook
The last paragraph was in jest, mostly, so dont all you tough guys get your cammie briefs in a bunch

Obama wants to concern himself with an issue of American heroes committing suicide? He should look at our veterans and figure out what can be done to help. But he probably will never address that while in office because its a political quagmire.
Who is pretending to be a tough guy? Not sure why you keep bringing this up.
He can comment about the safety issues in football, and still tackle the issue of the alarming suicide rate in our Armed Forces
Do you have some evidence that he isn't concerned?
I know for a fact that the government is concerned because my daughter in law just got hired as a Psychologist at Ft Campbell to work with Soldiers and their families, with suicide prevention being at the top of her job description. And I know how many places she could have chosen from and I know there are a lot of jobs like hers openng up all over the country.
Literally hundreds of openings to fill from what she told me
I sure dont get why people think a President can't multi- task
+1. and my condolences.
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
And I dont see why you have never given me any real information to prove your statement that support your claim that Junior Seau's brain injuries played no part in his suicide
Best you have done is " Hey, dudes kil themselves sometimes"
I just see the stance that some of you are taking, basically " No one forces them to play, so fack em" as phony macho bluster
Kind of like Chicken Hawk Politicians who never served, and who's kids will never serve, advocating military intervention at the drop of a hat
No skin in the game
While the people who do have skin in the game, are very concerned about the issue
I simply believe there is a midlle ground, and a lot of steps that can be taken to make the game safer, and to still make it enjoyable for us fans, fun to play for the people who play it for fun, and less risky over the long term for those fortunate enough to have football as a career option
I do not see it as an either or situation
I am being reasonable IMO and in return, get accused of hating football
On a sidenote, I would be interested in learning what the CFL is doing on the matter
Oh isht, I just won
ElFacktardoGrande has joined the fray
You just became my favorite poster on the board....
Thank God somebody gets it....
Thanks, I think
No, I'm not a sarcastic azzhole like others on this board. Your points are VERY valid and well taken, but to the rest of the cavemen on this board, they don't see things from a human perspective, but rather an entertainment one. If it was up to the majority on this board, they would bring back the gladiators and sacrifice people to lions. SMH...
