I didn't get the pup I was originally looking for but we're happy. My buddy found a litter of 7 pups on the side of the road and he has two left. The kids and my wife fell in LOVE with the black/brown one in the pic below so I told him we'd take it off his hands. Thanks for all the feedback on the previous thread.
"Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, nobody!"
What kind is he? I don't know different breeds.
Looks like a german shepherd mix, but my record of predicting dog mixes is pretty hit or miss
RIP Lil Julio
Shes a mut, but everyone says she has a little chow look to her. Here's a better pic.
Does she have any black on her tongue? If she had chow in her she would.
That is one cute puppy, not surprised the family fell in love.
Well dang I didn't see an ounce of black on her tongue. She's cute as can be though, check out this pic after her first bath.
She is cute. But trust me its a good thing if she doesn't have chow in her.
Gonna be real cute after she eats your shoes and chews on your door frame.
I swear this dog hasn't made a peep in 3 hours. I know some of that is because of new surroundings but laid back is a drastic understatement for this pup so far. She's been laying in her kennel for 90 minutes. No whimpering at all.

You might be right but I don't see it happening with this one, "we'll see" haha. I hope I'm right. By the way, I have 20 more feet to go before my entire back yard is fenced in. I'm seriously thinking about getting a BIG DOG for the back yard. Any suggestions on one that won't dig holes everywhere, loves his family, but will protect the back yard/door if needed?
Would a German Shepard fit the bill?
cats > dogs
Very cute. Had to put one of my two childhood cats down last night
Sorry to hear that man. I don't know what it is about cats, but I have a weird connection with them. I had to put down my cat that I grew up with 2 years ago and was it worse than when my grandmother died...

Yeah that sucks man sorry to hear that. We've had a few cats before and loved them like they were family. You're never quite prepared to see that friendship come to an end.
I would agree, no way to tell really.
you could do some DNA testing, but it would most likely be a waste of time and money for you, unless you plan on breeding it.
i like rescue dogs and mutts, they're pretty cool
Yes on GSD for protection, but too smart for a yard dog that isn't played/worked with regularly (bored dog equals holes and chewed ???).
My suggestion is to get a doggie door and a short haired big dog. That way he/she is part of the family, you don't have to worry if you fall asleep right b/f walk time or the movie runs late... The only drawback with a dog door is the potential for "puppy prints" everywhere. If you have wood floors or can limit inside traffic to hard floors, this is not an issue. We go house hunting when I get back from deployment and a doggie door will be one of the first upgrades (I miss having one).
Maybe some Husky in there? Something with the shorter nose....
that looked more Shiba Inu to me, but that's the hard part...
there could be any number of factors that combine to create those looks
Shina inu and some German Shepard? I can see it.
Ive had labs as a kid as an adult. There good dogs,
My Fox Terrier / Corgi mix is a great inside dog. I just got her. Here's Foxy.... in meme form:
Yeah I think y'all are right. I googled both and can see it as well. I'm going to see what the vets opinion is when I pick her back up from her shots.
