Could easily throw him in with that second group -- no one is close to Speils in my mind though.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
Crap thats right! Good call, major brain fart!
Spielman, Katzenmoyer, Hawk
Honorable Mention: Cousineau
I was wondering when Dhani Jones was making the list for you guys!
It really was a very sad situation. He was an outstanding player, and was one that I enjoyed watching. It is to bad he couldnt not get help!
Foster has potential to be great but I was thinking about player already on board or in the last few years. D Ryans has a good start want to see how he bounces back after the injury. He's put up some great numbers in the NFL.
Spielman, Hawk, Cousineau
Honarable mention to the Big Kat. I loved Katzenmoyer as a kid too
There is a little more to it than that. Wasn't a depression issue for the most part.
all these Buckeyes are nuts....any Buckeye list with LAuranitis not in it is absurd. The guy was a 3 time all-american....THE only one is OSU history. Guy might be THE best LB of all time at OSU, but top 3 is a definite no-brainer.
ECU grad, tOSU fan for life. Father since 1/12/13.
I figured there might be alittle more to it.
There was a terminal illness that was kept secret and things were starting to get bad.
He's fifth on my list.
Spielman is Spielman.
Cousineau was the number one pick in the draft, and went to Canada because they were willing to pay double what he could make in the NFL...Pretty sick. He had 211 tackles in an 11 game season, thats almost 20 a game.
AJ Hawk versus Texas is the best performance I've seen a LB have for OSU.
Katz vs the animal you could debate, but IMO the three above are clearly better.
No, Bama has had other greats at LB, but these are the undisputable top 3 (order is up for debate).
Jevon "The Freak" Kearse
Agree with Spiels...
Cous being the #1 pick in the draft is blah...Sure its nice, but Jemarcus Russell was a #1 pick.
Hawk was a beast, no doubt. But he had 1 absurdly great year in 2005. He was good before that, but not "all time great material".
The Animal verse TExas the next year had a game that would rival Hawks game. Plus, he was the most consistently great player i could ever remember in my lifetime. You could guarantee he was making 10-15 solo tackles a game, and other plays. Plus, being the only 3 time All American as a LB in OSU history is unbelievable. The guy owns Buckeye Grove. Having him outside of the top 3 is sham IMO.
Kirk Carruthers was also another great linebacker who played with Brooks and Jones
Since I have lived in Arizona for a while here are the Wildcats top three iyam
Tedy Bruschi played DE in college...
Not the top threesome, but pretty good for a school not known for its FB program.
you are right, this list is harder to make than i thought originally
Not in my top 3.
All time best? Maybe - but not yet. IMO Derrick Thomas then everyone else....
No. No they are not. Very good yes. As good as any? DT is in NFLHOF, is spikes? Should he be in there?
Again 3 very good LBs, but to say as good as any is ridiculously homer
I would take Sam Cowart over Michael Boulware.
Id love to get an NFL scout to watch him and analyze his draft stock right now..bet it wouldnt go past 2 round imo
