I guess Miami has baseball, although I wouldn't put them too much ahead of the state of Florida's current program.
Like I said, this goes much deeper than sports. It's political and it's about money as well.
Academics on a small scale....yes is better than UF, but as a contribution to the state, it's really not even close honestly. Research at UF far exceeds what is going on at Miami.
your rational about why fsu an UM fans hate UF makes no sense, because Florida has more money and a better gymnastics program? The hate for UF is strictly about football and how douchie UF is.
You know Miami can't afford a gymnastics program. They can't even afford facilities for football. It's a $$ thing.
They do have their priorities right, that is admirable. Very good academic university, even though their endowment is not large, nor are they big fundraisers.
They remind me of the direction USC took over 30 years ago, raise the academic profile of the university, attract the top students, nurture a commitment to the university "family" that will give back gladly when they become successful in their various professions.

Where is the real L and what have you done with her?
Actually saying something nice about Miami?
Say it aint so
you leave her alone, she has her priorities straight and she is right.
I give them their due, Blem. I won't talk about other things though...
I wouldn't put Miami near USC's level in anyway in influence or power in each's state.
Honestly who gives a chit. They gave me a great education and in the end that's all that matters. $$$ has nothing to do with this thread but that's all you seem to care about. Like I said, we hate UF because of the douche factor. Which is on display. That is all.

Sweetheart, I'm just saying there are similarities between USC and Miami in the aggressive course to raise their respective academic profiles. Although decades apart, it isn't unrealistic for them to to have the meteoric rise USC had.
1) Alabama, BetterOff you and a couple others on here are quite possible the least obnoxious bama fans ive ever conversated with. Never cared much for the bama fan base but when the Bama section started chanting "boring" during the Ole Miss alma mater one pregame i lost all respect
2)Miss A&M- just below bama fans though i must say their coach alone makes it very close to a tie
13)LSU- dont get me wrong i cant stand LSU and i do get tired of Oxford smelling like corn dogs for weeks after the game BUT ive meet many many LSU fans that are cool as can be. they might yell and cuss at you but they always seem to follow that cussing with "want a drink? or are you hungry"
Ya. You guys were still talkin shit after we beat your ass in The Fiesta Bowl. You guys look pretty good this year.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??

Did you grow up in Georgia? Because it's a whole other story then. I've literally had UGA fans come up and ask me, "How are you an Auburn fan? You ain't even from Auburn!" To which I reply, "Well, both of my parents are Auburn grads and so I was raised from birth to be Auburn. Why are you a Georgia fan?" "Because I'm from Georgia, duh!"
This sums up allllllooooooootttttt of their fans I shit you not. The basis for being a Georgia fan is that they are from Georgia....
I was going to put a witty joke here, but I forgot bama fans still use picture books. So I thought I'd expedite the process for you...
1) I discount all internet fans unless they're consistently good folks. Most eJerks are trolls, the ones that aren't don't warrant consideration.
2) In person, it just depends on the year and what fan you happen to bump into. I've had pretty bad experiences (but isolated incidences, if you will) at AU, UGA, UT. LSU people have run a lot of mouth, but I get along pretty damn well with them. Used to hit a few of their tailgates in Tuscaloosa and get some badass gumbo. Back on point though, and to be fair, my wife is an aubie and she's been treated like shit at Bryant Denny, too. If you're in the other guy's stadium, it's a rivalry, and you win...you're going to be tested on the way out. If I had to pick one, I guess it's obvious I'd say AU, but I've been to their stadium more than the others.
SEC its aggy you just don't know it yet.BUT you will. Now that aggy is gone I would say ou for the Big 12.But I'm sure they would say us.
And? Don't get me wrong my entire family has gone to UGA, and I will be getting my masters from there in the spring. Why can a person not like their hometown team?
