I don't know if he will or not. He has come close. The SEC champ game was a heartbreaker. We will have a good offense this year but I don't know how our defense will be. 2014 we will be solid on both sides of the ball. I just hope our defense can surprise this year.
South Carolina > Georgia
Honestly I really hope Tennessee can get it turned around. I thought y'all had a good team going into the season last year. I actually pick y'all to beat us and caught hell for it on my homeboard. Maybe Butch can get it turned around.
3rd or 4th in the SEC would most likely be a top 5 recruiting class nationally.
What the hell is all this crap about Richt locking up the state of Ga.and UT not pulling good recruits from it. I remember pulling,
Darren Myles 4*
Eric berry 5*
Jawuan James 4*
Da'rick Rogers 5*
Justin Coleman 4*
Aj Johnson 4*
Deion bonner 4*
Jason croom 4*
Daniel mcCullers 4*
Justin Coleman 4*
These are just the ones in recent memory that I know had offers from UGA and chose us.
And this year we have
Cortez McDowell 4*
Kevin mouhon 4*
Committed and there are ALOT more that were 3* that UGA offered I just didn't have time type them. And since Spurrier has the state of South Carolina on lock down I remember pulling
Corey miller 4*
Pat Martin 4*
Justin Worley should have been a 4* and you know it
Justin Meredith 3*
Jerquari schofield 4*(2009) but S.C doesn't have too many "Great" recruits every year.
So looking at this list, these names are from the last 3-4 years so I guess those states have just been on lock down starting this year huh.
This was a good thread because it got the UTk posters to tBB. Board is better with more posters.
3/10 and I'm being generous. Could you at least be good at trolling? It would be a lot more fun.
"Give him six" "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama" "Grit N Grind"
I'm not gonna lie.....I laughed at this one.
Tennessee fans acting exactly like they did when Kiffin was shiny and when Dooley was new....
Can't wait for more epic Vol meltdown videos in the upcoming years.
It' must be tough knowing you once mattered but now are irrelevant.
Having a thread started in my honer on your homeboard, bringing in multiple first time vol posters to tBB.
I give it a 9/10
It's easy to recruit off of hope. But once Tennessee has had two or three 6-6/7-5 type of seasons in a row, how will recruits respond then?
Butch is facing an uphill battle. Tennessee has real issues
Ok, now that I've read through the thread, here's my This is what I take away from this thread, Tennessee is gonna suck forever. Heck we've already been down for years and years I mean how will this ever end? Sounds really stupid when you say it out loud doesn't it? This is a top 10 program in every area of college football. We've been down for 5 years. Every team goes through down periods. In some cases they sucked for a really long time and one coach has made them relevant.
My favorite part about this thread, its Georgia and South Carolina fans talking trash. Schools who would trade they're past with our past in a heart beat. Schools who haven't even sniffed the level of success we have. I'm a young guy and most of my fanhood days have been spent losing so I can't wait until were Tennessee again. Nothing will be sweeter when that happens and we kick yalls ass again. If you want to believe were not gonna be good again anytime soon that's fine, be my guest. Will be a lot worse for you when this crap ends and were winning again.
I didn't start the thread or tell them all to come over here, so I could care less if they gave you attention.
The funny thing is, every kid whose committed to us right now has admitted that they know were gonna have it rough next year and we don't care. They want to come here anyway cause their gonna help turn it around and be remembered as the class that started the rise back to the top. Let that sink in.
I didn't keep up with their coaching search initially, but I've been wondering: Was Franklin on the list?
I agree with both of you.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
Enjoy living in the 90's for the rest of your life.
Weak instate high school football = weak college football instate.
Strong instate high school football = strong college football instate.
I gotcha. 2014 class will be solid, but how will 2015 and 2016 be after more mediocrity?
It's hard to turn it around. Took Spurrier 5 years to get us decent. Can Tennessee fans make that commitment? Thats the point of the thread.
Would I trade pasts? Yes.
Would I trade present, or future? Nope.
2013 - get there.
Out of all those players... Berry, James, and Rogers are the only one's we offered. McDowell had one til we filled up at his position.
Tennessee's been fighting Vandy, UK, and Ga Tech for 2nd level players in Georgia the past few years. Mouhon is a perfect example of this.
Who is the last OOS player you got that was actively being recruited by Alabama/Georgia/Florida? This year UT has 2 high instate players (rarity) and a legacy. Beyond that, 2nd level guys not being offered and pursued by the elite programs.

We can if he gives you some level of confidence mainly in the form of an occasional upset. I lost confidence in Dooley so quickly during his third year because he continued to fail at beating a single team that was good. His tenure at Tennessee included 4 wins, 2 against Vandy, 1 against Kentucky, and 1 against an Ole Miss team when they were terrible. It was also clear that the kids weren't playing for him either. They lost confidence to.
If Butch can win games against teams that he's not supposed to beat on the occasion and continue to get the team to play for him and create a confidence and make them play with heart like they used to, then we will stay behind him.
However, if he can continue to recruit like this (and there's no evidence to point to that can argue against that) then we will be back to winning by year 3 or 4.
That's a fair statement. Don't blame you necessarily. My post was more so directed at the Georgia fans anyway.
