Penguins vs. Flyers tomorrow on NBC at 3 EST. I am so excited I can hardly stand it.
Now, I got to thinking... Crosby says he is OK and ready to go. I don't know if there are any other Pens fans on here but if so... Would you sit Crosby for this game? You know how dirty the Flyers are when it comes to Pens vs. Flyers. They will be targeting Crosby like none other to try and take him out AGAIN.
On the other hand, I really want him to play and hopefully put in a couple goals on those bastards. Suck it Flyers!
Pretty sad if you think you have to sit your best player against your biggest rival because he can't handle it. After a couple years off #8 will take his spot back as the best player on earth
#8 was never the best player.
Never said he couldn't handle it. Flyers are cheap. They will be head hunting the entire game. They want to legitimately end his career.
Only people who don't watch hockey think Ovechkin was ever better than Crosby.
Ovechkin is a sniper. He can snipe even the best goalies. He is not the all-around player that Crosby is. Never has been, likely never will be.
As much as I don't like him, Crosby is definitely the best all-around player out there. Datsyuk is up there too.
Crosby and Datsyuk are the top all-around players in the league. They are good to great at all aspects of the game. Toews is up there as well, but not quite on their level. he is only 24, though.
I agree with that.
Truth be told, there are a lot of players I would take over Ovechkin.
I'm sorry, but I've always viewed Ovechkin as a one-trick pony. A guy with a powerful shot, and can hurt you if you leave him open. He isn't a great defender, or even good defender. He isn't a good passer, he is a freelancer that is always out of position...
Never was a fan.
Can't wait for hockey!!!'
20 months, and your 5th post. I am honored that its in my thread. Thank you sir.
I think he's exciting to watch because of what he can do with the puck but ya the truly great players play both ways.
Quit your crying.

Come on. You are going to tell me that the Pens will not be targeting Giroux???
I hate those dirty bastards with a passion.
Not to put him in the hospital with a possible career ending injury. No.
The feelings are mutual.
I don't hate you though treber. You know that
I honestly doubt anyone wants to put Crosby in the hospital. Get under his skin and render him ineffectual, yes.
I do not hate you either MM. You just unfortunately have bad taste in hockey teams
Who does everyone root for? I'm a Bruins fan myself, don't know why but have liked them since I was 9 or 10. Don't even know how good they are suppose to be this year.
1) Blue Jackets
2) Flyers (was raised a Flyers fan until Columbus got its own team, still root for them when they're not playing the CBJ)
3) Whoever is playing Pittsburgh

Ovechkin from 2008-2010 is a better 3 year stretch than Crosby or any player currently in the league has ever had. 171 Goals in 233 games is ridiculous. Backstrom and Green (sometimes) are great but if you watched the Capitals those years you know how that entire team fed off of OV, if they needed a big goal it was always him. +/- is obviously a flawed stat but if you go +45 with Jose Theodore as your goalie and Jeff Schultz manning the blue line most of your ice time you have to be doing something right. Is he the best based on the last two seasons? Obviously not. Was he the best over those three years? Absolutely.
No. He was the best scorer in that stretch. Not the best hockey player.
On Saturday, April 6th edition of Hockey Night in Canada, Don Cherry (wearing a very loud Easter suit) talks about Sidney Crosby's whining and the reaction from the league.
