Hey to each their own. My top DBs go brown, hump and peppers. And yes hump 4.33 was electronic. He ran a 4.45 at the army combine in January on what is considered a slow track. Brown ran a 4.35 today. Peppers is a consistent 4.4 guy and brown and hump have been consistent 4.3 guys and while peppers is more of an athelete than both, they are more natural DBs. Which is what they are ranked as. Mitchell was the most athletic lb last year but didn't make him the best lb. Oh and I agree about tyren being better than altee. Just another example of people getting to caught up in prospects athelitism, kind of what's happening regarding this debate
appreciate your honesty.
it says Humphrey ran a 13.3 110 hurdles which is flying. Then at the end it says he ran 110 in 17.20 which is terribly slow. Maybe I'm reading it wrong or its corrected later in the thread.
Peppers is faster then Humphrey and more college ready but its apples to apples. They both are gonna be beast.
wait...... Webb didn't jump at least a 30 in his vert?????!!!!! That's actually unbelievable to me, he seems like such an all around better athlete then that.
I mean jumping a 30 for a WR or CR isn't even good to be honest.
Yep and Joyner was the #1 db over milliner by a long shot, williams was the #1 safety over haha by a long shot. We get it, u people get to caught up in the splash plays and not how their game will translate to the next level. Brown and hump db skills are better than peppers. Ball instincts, hips and technique. Peppers is really good, make no mistake but those other two are just more natural DBs
I didnt insinuate you were the one
Has Peppers ever competed against elite competition? I know his high school team is good, but what about camps how has he looked against good wide receivers? Who knows maybe the guy can only cover New Joyzee boys. I could be wrong on this but I haven't heard him camp much, and I think for DB's are the only position where you can tell how good they are at camps. (Coverage wise) Also I am not saying he is bad because he is obviously a good athlete, but how sure are you he plays defense?

Peppers is #scraps.
Webb was higher on our board anyway. Hes the better CB.
Are you really saying that you can get a better read on how good a player is, by watching camps, more so than watching game film?
It's a highlight tape, everyone looks good in that. For about 99% of players a camp (mainly meant 7 on 7) shows absolutely nothing. For a DB though it can show a little bit for their coverage. I am not a fan of highlight videos because for ever 5 minutes of good film they could have 10 minutes of bad film they cut out.
Before he transferred to Paramus his team played Manatee and won. His team also played several elite teams and performed well.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Thank you, I was unaware of this as I said I didn't know.
I really wish he wouldn't have backed out of the rivals five star challenge. That way this argument could be more valid. Webb and hump tore it up against elite receivers, which humphrey won defensive skills mvp. Peppers is a great safety but he don't have the hips like brown and hump. It's a reason he is mostly at strong safety or in the box. If he was rated strictly as an athlete and they want him in front of Humphrey than I could agree with that because he is dynamic but as a db, no sir....

FWIW, MH's track coach thinks he has a future in the Olympics. We are gonna need to squash that to get him to Bama
"Because Bama now sucks just like FSU used to suck when we were getting dominated by OU. Does it make sense now?"- Sliger (FSU Fan)
Would you suck his dick if it meant he would squash his Olympic dreams and go to Bama?
I'm thinking yes
He and tony brown both made the Jr Olympic team last month and will be traveling out the country to compete....
You would be wrong then
Thank you. Being a DB isn't just seeing how athletic you are, there are many minor things that makes you a DB especially CB. That is why it is a very hard position to exceed at.
Thank you for the enlightenment. Before your post, I assumed being a DB was all about athleticism and nothing else. You really corrected my thinking.
Now my fault you Michigan fans downplay the guys who lock down the elite receivers by saying they don't have the same athleticism as Peppers.
Webb is obviously the superior CB to Peppers because he locks down receivers at camps and 7-on-7s. Obviously. Also, he passes the bgsubuckeye eyetest.
Maybe we should ask Jalen Embry how it feels to be locked down by Webb.
Just to make sure, your argument that the Hoover DB coach is the best in the country is predicated on the fact that the previous Hoover DB coach is now Florida State's DC?
1 guy? Not shocked by this kind of response..I'm not getting into who is better pissing match. I'll just say Webb has been camping all over and shutting everyone down. I haven't followed Peppers camping schedule
Isn't this thread about Humphries and not Webb? Don't recall ever stating anything about Webb, please stay on topic.
Camps mean so much! Webb is obviously the better corner because he does well at camps! That's why every single recruiting site, not just a couple crazy Bucknuts, has him above Peppers in the rankings!
