Not knocking it, honestly. If you can get away with it, why not? Florida's schedule is usually about the same as most everyone else except for that one fact.
A reason a lot of programs do is for recruiting purposes and I guess with the state of Florida there is not area of the country that is going to really going to be a better area to target.
Just curious on what true Florida fans think. Has it become something that people complain about so much that you guys are just set on not doing it just to prove a point?
Is it one of those things like USC and Notre Dame not playing an FCS program, but still playing Minnesota, Syracuse, Hawaii, Fresno St, Utah St, Navy, Purdue, Boston College, Virginia, Rice, Temple, UMASS, and Duke and acting like there is a big difference in playing those schools and some FCS programs?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Personally, I'd like to see it happen. But it's not and I'm ok with that.
By people complaining, are you referring to Internet messageboarders? Serious question.
You don't think there's a big difference between those programs and FCS schools? (Isn't umass FCS?)
I don't think we will
Miami and FSU are in the state
No reason to leave
Plus you have USF and UCF on the up & up
The state is solid
We also are contacted to hold @ least 7 games at the Swamp every year
which only leaves a few away games left for us and we have 4 away conference games

Messageboarders would be some of the complaints, but no I don't get too caught up into those.
You do hear it from time to time from some of the analysts as well, especially the PAC12 and B1G homers.
I was honestly just curious on whether it was a topic of discussion or anything amongst Florida fans on whether it happened or not.
UMASS is FBS.
No, I don't think there is that much of a difference in the product on the field. There is a big difference in the money put into things, but that doesn't make the product better.
If I put App St, North Dakota St, or Ga Southern in a tournament with those teams listed above, I would like the chances of one of those teams winning instead of one of the FBS programs.
The point is that if a school is a top tier program, does beating Syracuse, Minnesota, or Navy really prove anything more than beating Ga Southern?
Yeah, Foley doesn't care anything about them. I'm assuming Muschamp doesn't either.
It's brought up from time to time but very rarely. One thing about Florida fans, they go hand in hand with complaining. Hell, we had folks finding something to bitch about during the Tebow era pre-'09 SECCG. So yeah, it's mentioned but not all that much.
Our schedule is one of the toughest year in and out and will get us where we wanna go if we win out.
I dont really care too much about the out of state ooc gms.
But, I wish UF would schedule Miami more regularly. I think thats one of the main things holding UF back, from having a true presence with those SoFla recruits. Well, the Dade county ones, at least.
Agreed. I wanna play Miami every year again.
This is pretty much the reason there isn't any movement or demand to schedule morfe marquee match-ups. We already have a pretty tough sched every year due to our yearly UGA, USCe, LSU, FSU games. Then throw in a rotating west that catches Bama or whoever else in the west is good at the time (A&M/Arky/Barners/Miss. Schools) and then the SEC Championship game. On tough years we're looking at having 6 or more top ten teams on the sched at the time of the game.
Beatings will continue until morale improves
Why make life hard when you don't have to.
No I did not lose a sig bet, but I am really really really ridiculously good looking.
Fixed....... and "me too" !
Golden is better then Jimbo... I feared it was true. He is going to hoist a crystal ball there - fsufsu
I would go as far as saying 100% of our fanbase wants this.
*In before the "scared" comments....
Didn't want to bring it up
I'm young I barely even remember anything about Miami vs. Florida...kinda sucks but I don't even see them as a rival on my hate scale like ND, FSU, VT. Never gunna play again blows
I call BS. You definitely hate us more than those teams. Most canes fans I know we're cheering for FSU to beat us last year. ND and VT? No way.
Miami fans were probably cheering for FSU bc it's an ACC team beating an SEC opponent. I'm pretty indifferent when that game is played. Most Canes fans respect FSU more but both are fine with me. I dislike ND heavily & VT is probably the biggest conference rival we have.
2002 Peach Bowl I was 10...I've seen the whole game on YouTube the 2008 game too I'm not going back further than that because the quality sucks after this yr.....nothing/no more games why would I hate y'all???
I loath FSU but want to see them and us on top so the rivalry will actually have NC implications otherwise what's the point

I'd like a home n home with Texas, USC or ND.. I dont think we need to, but it'd be cool for the fans
Which has to do with our recent success, the fact we dont play every year, and their hate for Tebow

Nobody hates Tim Tebow.. They hate the media for idolizing him 24/7 & making him out to be more important than he really is.
I respect him as an athlete, tireless worker, great leader, devout Christian & for all the volunteer work he does annually.
I want Ohio St hell Florida can play them in Columbus for all I care.
I hate the pro Tebow not the college player he sucks balls at football and ESPN hypes him like no other he can't throw the ball
