Was not a factor at all today and takes way too many plays off. He has the prototypical size for a DE, but he is too lazy and inconsistent. 3rd rounder at best.
I completely disagree with you but he didn't have a great day. He'll still go in the first round.
He shouldn't. He's been pumped up for the last couple years and rarely shows up in big games. Georgia was his only "big" game against a respectable opponent.
3rd rounder? He'll be drafted in the 1st or 2nd off of potential and his size alone.
Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
If he is, he'll be a bust, just like his brother.
Maybe.. But his position is a position teams draft early with the passing league the NFL has become. Pass rushers are gold and a premium for teams so someone will take a chance early for sure, IMO.
What's the point in taking a risk on a player like Gholston who takes plays off and makes stupid penalties? This year is pretty deep for the DL, I don't see a team taking him in the first round unless it is an absolute need and there are no other premier options.
I think he will go in the First round based off size and potential alone... you know he is going to impress at the combine.
He's not going in the first round
Lazy, attitude no control, doesn't show up in big games and the worst one is his brother was a major bust that will not be overlooked.
There's several great DLinemen in the NFL who were labeled lazy in college.
Hah. This thread, in my mind, is the equivalent to USMCAG starting a thread titled "President Obama Is Overrated."
1. Vernon Gholston is Will's cousin. Not his brother.....
2. Gholston has incredible potential and measurements that most others do not have.
3. This thread was started by a high school kid.
4. This thread sucks balls.
I hope he's studying hard. His NFL days will be short-lived if he's anything like his cousin.
You see that sign that says 'Rib Tips'??
Cousin, but agreed
Completely irrelevant, but whatever.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Not really. He may not be old enough to know that his motor in College probably won't be the same in the Pro's.
I'm 17 years old and have been watching football since I was 5.
I can't comment on other games, but showing a DE against Michigan is a very bad argument. If anything, it seemed like Gholston was told to keep his gap integrity rather than a full out release on Robinson. I could be wrong, but it seemed that way in the highlights.
Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.
Damn, guess you got the jump on me. I've only been watching since 6 and I'm 22.
If God dwells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting
All I got out of this thread was that Ohio States o-line shut down a future first rounder, nice.
Our quarterback does front flips, suck it.
I don't know about overrated, but he got knocked the eff out cold and returned to the game on the next D series. Kid has heart.
He isn't saying that he thinks Will Gholston is an overrated pro prospect, he is saying that he thinks he is an overrated player in general. So no, his age is not relevant.
Dude is a dirty ass player
Sure am glad miller saw that one coming and ducked under it. I was confused when Miller was laying there motionless because I didn't see him take any kind of hit. Didn't realize he was just doing what he was supposed to do if a player is knocked out on top of you... er, I mean, when a player has the wind knocked out of him on top of you.
