fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
I'd say very high, but not for another 5 years or so. They will park their non-football sports in the ACC and agree to give them five football games a year, just like ND. And that will be the end of the B12 as a power conference.

i figured they would send their other sports to the pac 12 or whatever remains of the big 12
i for some reason enjoy the conference expansion talk. i was looking into it if the big 12 would ever expand or maybe eventually die and i found this article from a year ago is why i ask. makes sense if you read it
Though the Big 12 seems to be its home for at least another few years after the additions of West Virginia and TCU, there is still no shortage of reasons for the Longhorns to strike out on their own as independents...
You want to talk about teams falling off better look in the mirror
2001 for us. 1980's for you.
Because Deloss is committed to the B12 and as long as Texas and OU stay it won't fold even if its not a good conference. The new bowl tie in with the SEC make that scenario unlikely. If/When Deloss gets fired/retires in the next couple years than its possible but still infinitely more likely that Texas joins the PAC, SEC or BIG.

I'm gonna be honest, I thought this was gonna be a secession thread.
None, the Texas legislature would never let this happen. This would cause too many schools in Texas to suffer for Texas' benefit.
I thought that too after I posted
Yeah but now you suck
That joke would have been funny 3 months ago
He's got a point still waiting on ND's next NC..........
Texas is obviously joining the SEC
Who has more titles Nebraska or ND
Going independent may be the only way for them to stay competitive with a&m. Other than the Oklahoma game there really isn't any marquee games in the rest of the conference for them. they play like 2 games a year on Espn now. Being independent they can pick the schedule and have several big games and actually be more relative
Doesn't the Big 12 have grants of rights?
He's Canadian which is a 50% conversion rate so that his way of saying 50/50
I dream of a day when chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.
Zero chance. Texas needs to get back to winning. When they are, every game is a marquee game. I live on the East Coast. When Texas is ranked every game is televised. I consider USC, Cal, ND, Ohio State, etc. to be good games. All are on future matchups.
