Okay so god has a plan for everyone right?

I'm going with evolution.

I agree 100%.
I also hate bible thumpers: more bibles and guns in schools!!! Tards.
I hate that for you. Not that your friend died, obviously I wish that didnt happen, but I hate that you in part turned from god due to personal tragedy. It should be done solely on logic because honestly the doctrines of God's infinite holiness can encompass the death of your friend. It's not exclusionary. Seems like you definitely have come to understand it though so no worries.
When you meet people who dont "get" any of it but say they dont believe because of a similar tragedy I wish they had the actual understanding of why god's not real instead of an emotional response.
Next time there is a national trajedy like Newton Conn, I'll be there to remind you how wonderful god's plan is for each and every one of those 5 year olds!! Hooray!!
God knows what path each has set upon, and where it will conclude.

I still want to know what happened to the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Incas...
Of which no one knows who wrote them, and all have been translated many, many times by who knows who.
Sorry, didn't see it on my phone. Evolution is the process in which everything in the universe randomly appeared due to some sort of chance or stroke of luck that caused the first spark of life. From there, natural selection and mutation changed simple bacteria into the complex human beings and animals we see today.
Sad situation, not God's fault. Try harder, i expect better from you.
You know what's sad about the "God has a plan for me" thing? It was a declaration by God in the Bible to a specific group of people in a specific instance. That is not a verse that should be transferred to anyone other than those people. And yet you can hardly find a christian who doesnt cherish that verse as one of the 5-6 most comfortating verses they know. And they usually know about 4-5
Huh? I must have missed this earlier
Oh trust me, the emotional response only lasted until I was 13, when I actually started reading up and educating myself about the fallacies of organized religious belief. As you can clearly see from my posts in this thread, I've worked it out logically since then - the emotional response was just the visceral reaction from a 12-year-old who had many doubts about religion but hadn't worked through it all logically.
Horse shit. Sounds like some damn fairy tale
This boy was born today from a wealthy family. He'll become a millionaire.
This boy was born out of a rape. He'll become a mass murderer and shoot up a church and kill dozens of innocent people.

Wait, Bush is an athlete? He's a fat out of shape redneck. Seal is an athlete? Please. Look at the last guy. He's about as bad as they come. Your argument doesn't old a lot of water. Poor, uneducated people will give birth to the most babies this year. Then their kids will breed. Then their kids. Soon you have, well, America. You're wrong about this, brah. We no longer live that way. This isn't caveman days.
You should read up on evolution. Get a used biology and genetics textbook, or torrent them. It would be 5 bucks.
I'm sure that's easy for you to say, your football team is on a nice dynasty run, you probably have a good wife, maybe some kids, I'm sure it all does seem like a good little plan laid out for you, but tell me, where is gods plan for the dead babies being pulled out of rubble in the Middle East from bombings, or how about the ten year old little girl dying of cancer somewhere here and everywhere else, was that gods plan?
Why isn't it God's fault? If God exists and is omniscient and all-powerful, then he clearly knew those kids were going to die, he had the power to stop it, and yet he chose not to do so. What kind of a message is that?
Depends on what religious context you're using, I guess
If you are Christian you believe that the good guys went to heaven and the bad guys went someplace else. If you're a Jew, nothing happened, there is no afterlife. If you're a... and on and on...
Obviously Micro evolution was, it is necessary for life to be maintained. However, God's plan is described in Genesis. It doesn't allow for Macro evolution. Everything was intelligently designed with a purpose.
"God knows what path each has set upon, and where it will conclude" - you
So Newton wasn't in the plan, but god knew that those 5 year olds would be systematically shot in the head (and chose to do nothing to stop it)?
I would think you would able to ephathize with their arguments more since they were the same ones you were giving me last year when we had these discussions, and you were on the other side. In fact I was on the other side of this argument 18 years ago. Its not a matter of intelligence. It is a matter of suspending your incredulity in this one area of your life. At one time, I completely didn't look at my belief in god rationally. I came to it slowly and went through several different stages before I could. I had to deprogram myself. It isn't until then that you can stand back and look at yourself to see how little sense you were making. When you come across something you don't understand you dismiss it as a mystery or you need to have faith. It takes a lot to get thinking past that.
Micro and marco evolution aren't actual terms. Once again, read a textbook on biology.
Not to be rude, but you have no idea what you're talking about.
