I've always purchased Trend Micro anti-virus, and have been happy with them. I'm just tired of paying outrageous prices. What are the ones that you recommend?
I use Avast. Seems to work fine.
Stop downloading porn.
Microsoft security essentials works fine for most people. That's what I usually recommend
You should try this site imo
fsufsu said... I've got about 10 great stories on Lane but all you need to know is he will never be a loser, that's for sure.
My 3 sons have used Kaspersky on their laptops for 3 years with no problems. I also have used Trend on my company laptop and home PC for the last 4 years with no problem. Both of these subscriptions are $40 annually, so if that is outrageous consider the alternative. While trying to save a buck, I lost 2 computers due to viruses prior to the installation of Trend with the replacement costs being $3K total. So had I been halfway smart, I would have paid the $160 that I have now spent over the last 4 years for good protection and be $2840 richer. Breaking it down.....it's a little over .10 a day and money well spent imo. I also hear that BitDefender is very good also and is only $30 annually, but I have not personally tried that product. Maybe some on here have and can comment.

Avast or AVG... My laptop at home uses AVG, but the work computers all have Avast.
there's no need to pay for anti-virus programs... just use Avast and download Advanced SystemCare. Run ASC a couple of times a week. Both can be found at download.com
Edit: and of course do the custom installation so they don't sneak in a damn toolbar or something similar

Danielle Hunter, Jamario Rasco, Anthony FREAK Johnson.. DL wrecking crew of 2013.
Haven't paid for viruscan in 6 years. It's a scam.
Like gaming too much to get a Mac. I went with Avast.
This. Security Essentials + MalwareBytes is all you need.
"Get in where you fit in." Life is, Too Short TL;DR
This. Or get a Mac.

Comodo for me. Firewall is a little overprotective, but as long as you aren't consistently downloading warez or torrents with CD keys, you should be fine with just about any free antivirus, Avast, AVG, etc.
Super Anti-spyware, malwarebytes, and ccleaner are free programs you should run weekly.
