Who has said that once in this thread?
Sounds like a tough situation.
Yeah - the fanaticism that would make someone think a van would show up to collect weapons is lunacy
Would be funny to see the Bergermister show up to collect guns
I'm just saying that if they do, even the government figures need them taken.
Great legal mind, even if you don't necessarily like his opinions. And, no offense Hot Sauce, but I doubt you know enough to come to a proper, educated decision on Constitutional issues.
Besides Scalia is by far the most entertaining Justice in SCOTUS.
No offense, Jeff, but your argument here is stupid 'cause I never once said we should ban anything. You're just using some canned response, and for what reason I don't know.
I hate the man's politics, but I can't deny his entertainment value.
well let me ask you all this. since when do assault rifle welding lunatics that kill innocent children/people abide by the law any f'n way?
"Just gotta keep balling out"
Just simply saying....if they wanna take them, take them from everyone.
Critical thinking in responding to a different post might be a bit too much to ask of him.
The guy is hilarious during oral arguments. He can be a straight up d!ck to attorneys.
His written opinions also contain some real gems.
In law school, we named our flag football team "Scalia, J., Dissenting" because that's one of the most common phrases you'll see in your first year. Anything that doesn't come down exactly the way he wants it deserves a terse and angry dissent.
I can't deny that.
You do realize that if assault rifles were banned that the only way to get one would be to raid your local military base, right?
One of the reasons these lunatics kill people with assault rifles is because it's the heaviest weaponry they can generally get their hands on. If the assault rifles aren't available at Wal-mart, then your average psychopath isn't going to pull an Ocean's 11 on the nearest Fort.
Also, did you seriously just quote yourself because nobody was responding to you?
Well, there would be a black market for such items as well.
so you think people can't go on rampages with 22's, shotguns, or other guns that still aren't banned?
So called assault rifles are used in less than 1% of gun crimes according to FBI statistics. This whole argument is stupid and has nothing to do with protecting anyone.
He is no better or worse than you and I my friend.
Of course they can, but those weapons aren't as powerful. That's kinda the point.
As a victim of a home invasion while I was home unarmed I can promise you it will change your feelings on guns and personal defense.
AR15s are way less powerful than shotguns. It's not even close. You should educate yourself before making these arguments.
Actually, yes, he is. He deals with more stress and more important decisions on a daily basis than you or I ever will. He is responsible for more people and more lives than you or I ever will be, and he is under a microscope millions of times more powerful than anything you or I will ever be subjected to. You may not like him or his politics, but to insinuate that he isn't better than you or I for what he subjects himself to demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of the presidency.
The largest commercially available shotgun magazines are 10 rounds. Surefire released 60 and 100-round mags for the AR-15. You can kill a whole hell of a lot more fleeing people with 100 rounds than you can with 10.
